1) (Gonna have to go off the beaten path here) When I look at a game poster, I try to focus on three things: 1. The theme, 2. The character design, and 3. The genre. If I can't determine what the game is, I'm bored with it already, and move on. So mostly... I'd say I look for what kind of game it is.
2) In-game characters... I like to know who I'm playing as... Dragons are cool and all, but not really poster foreground material.
3) I always liked the Mass Effect style poster with the character(s) standing around looking powerful beneath or above the logo. Shrug Kind of that thing where "a cool guy never looks at the explosion". *Edit: So that'd be a no on the intensity.
Good luck!

Everything depends on the genre...
1) Intensity and logo are parts of the graphic of the poster. So really, no matter what I answer it still is the first answer.
2) what if a Dragon is an ingame character? Of course I'm not interested in Dragons if they are not in the game, that'd be just lying to the customer. So, well, in-game character.
3) Depends on genre. Might be yes or no. For example, if you'd be advertising Pacman I'd preffer looking at the game logo - definitely. Generally - NO. (considering Diablo 3 posters being the best around)
Sry for commenting, but I couldn't stop myself, as first two questions don't have answers I'd like to pick.

Ah so you're just after cherry-picked confirmation bias as your answers? Gotcha.

^ This.
Whatever you're doing, it sounds like there really should be more options for most of the questions. Maybe if you were a little more clear about what's going on here, it might be clear to us that cherry-picked might be what's wanted for what you need.

1) The graphics design.
2) An in-game character. Dragons are boring since every other game has them anyway.
3) As long as it fits the genre and general atmosphere of the game, I prefer more intense.

1)When you look at a gaming poster. Which appeals/interests you the most?
-The graphics of the poster.
-The intensity of the character.
Both of these matter!
2)Which interests you the most in a games poster?
-An in-game character (Depends on what the game is related with! Putting a random dragon into a poster... doesn't make much sense)
3)The more intense poster the better the poster? (When I say intense I mean when a poster shows a thrilling action of game play and less intense that shows logo and character but not in middle of action).
-Yes (But only within context of the logo/game)

Damn, FMP already? I started my general art course in September, but my FMP isn't for probably a few months...Mind you, if it's a video games course, I guess a big project would take longer...Anyway,
1) The Graphics
2) In-game character
3) No, though it's not particularly a bad thing.

Well, it was 'wrong' according to my tutor. My college work is based on a research related to my Final Major Project. Which is concept art. Well, I'm not going to get too into it.
Please pick an answer and do not add any comments as they wont be needed except the choice of answer.
