? Was it his referral? wow the guy must be millionaire :P (make a search on google, there are thousands of links using that "ref", must be from some web or even from the own gamersgate site and he just copied it unaware of the hate).

Well, then it was not a true referral, just a tag gamersgate use to know the people who arrived there from the newsletter (ggnews= GamersGate NEWSletter then).
I have seen links on reddit that use the tag caff, and then a number. Those are the real referrals.
