I gifted a steam code to a friend and he says it told him he already owned the game when he didn't.

Hi, thanks for reading. I sent a steam code I got from a bundle to a friend of mine and the Steam Client is telling him he already owns the game when he clearly doesn't. Company of Heroes 2 The Western Front Armies is the game and he owns other Company of Heroes games but not that one. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I have'nt had the opportunity to try and own both licenses, but I can tell you that if you still have the key code that you might be able to get them to credit it to his account through Steam Support.

Other then that, you could try and deal with whoever sold you the game bundle, they may be willing to help, most Reputable Sites anyway.

If you bought your Bundle off of g2a and did'nt pay for their buyer protection, then you're just SOL.

I got the game from Humble Bundle. Thanks so much for your insight, I really appreciate it. I opened a ticket with Steam. Waiting on a response right now.

Humble Bundle is a Highly Reputable Site. they should be willing to work with you. Although, sometimes the games they sell are considered to be part of your Humble Account, and that could be the problem with your Key. T.T

That's a good point but I purchased it as a gift. Sounds like I'm not the only one having a problem with Company of Heroes.

Something is going on with the Company of Heroes 2 bundle. I didn't own any Company of Heroes 2 games. After purchasing the 1st tier of this weeks humble bundle and activating Company of Heroes 2 The Western Front Armies my account now owns Company of Heroes 2 but not The Western Front Armies. So either the bundle advertises the tiers backwards or they just assigned the keys backwards.
