Well, the Sims 4 is probably not meaningful to most, considering it was previously free. :P
This shows normally through the "Twitch Loot" page, so I wouldn't be bothering everyone with a thread on it normally, but this seems to have only just popped up, and it expires on the 26th, so I figured it'd be easy to overlook.

Basically:
Buy any of the games for $15 [this auto-corrects in cart on checkout].
You still need to pay tax, I believe this was about $1.65 for me.
Then, receive a $15 Amazon credit card through email:

You will receive an e-mail from Amazon within 7 days after product has shipped that indicates the dollar amount of the promotional credit and that the dollar amount of the credit has been added to your customer account. The e-mail will also provide instructions on how to redeem the promotional credit. Promotional credit expires at 11:59 p.m. (PT) December 31, 2019.

Another line on the promotion page states "after 7 days" rather than "within", so that statement may be the more accurate one.

I dunno 'bout you, but $1.50 or so for Last of Us seems like a splendid deal.
..we'll just ignore the fact that I don't currently have a PS4 to play it.
I'm just backlogging to a superior level over here, that's all. >.>

Anyway, Amazon Prime and Twitch Prime and Audacity Prime regularly offer 30 day free trials and, if one isn't currently showing you a free trial, do check the other sites. Since the service is the same across through all the sites, activating the trial from any of the sites will activate it for all of them.

And, most importantly, the offer is US only :P

Shoot, yeah. I saw that when going over the promotion rules, but I forgot to add it when actually writing the post up.
Thanks for the quick correction. :)

Limited quantity available. Offer is limited to U.S. only. Offer limited to one per customer and account. Offer may not be combined with other offers. [..] Digital content and services may only be available to customers located in the U.S. and are subject to the terms and conditions of Amazon Digital

No problem, mate! Happy to help! ^_^

Shame, it is a good deal... I'd prolly do the same and buy The Last of Us Remastered, same as you, even though I don't have a PS4 either xD BUT, I was thinking of buying one in the future, possibly when PS5 comes out and shoots the price of its predecessor down.

If you ended up getting it, check out my reply to robilar below. :)

Well, the way I see it, I'm not going to open the seal on it until I actually use it, and a sealed copy of the game should be able to be easily resold for a couple of dollars plus shipping, even years later. So even accounting for the fact that Amazon seems to limit what we can spend the rebate credit on, and the fact that we may not end up actually getting to play the game, it still seems like a fairly safe bet [on more-or-less breaking even on expenses] overall.

But yeah, I'm checking PS4 prices right now and, they're still a fair bit above what I'd go for. I mean, $150'd be the range I'd look for (so far, the 1TB Slim reliable sale price is $199). Rather, I usually get consoles (new, mind you) for less than $100 as they're being cycled out for their next-gen replacements. :P

My real consideration- aside from the budgeting- would be if I should wait on the Pro to go down or not. I'm not sure how much a difference that GPU change makes, and there doesn't seem to be too much of a difference between it and the Slim aside from that (other than the Slim being a fair bit lighter).

Hey, Sooth, sorry for the late reply (I always kinda delay my reply because I always check it when I have one grey cell working these days xD)
I didn't get it because I don't live in the US. I live in Serbia.

I am glad that you can get a console that cheap, wish we could do the same, but the 500GB PS4 costs ~400$, 1TB PS 4 (with 3 games) currently costs around 500$ in a store. The Pro is 550$. And our average wages are around 350$ PER MONTH xD So, yeah, not a good deal in any way :D

I hope you can snatch one up easily and play that game :)

That sounds pretty close to to our non-sale prices for PS4s, actually.
Sales are just kind a big thing when shopping for things related to games, these days.
See: Bundles. :P

Let's see, our income.. Going off 28 hrs/week at 7.25/hr, with a tax reduction of 15%, would put one's monthly wage at $776. Housing should run about $400 [or about $280 if you're in low-income housing, but that can be a pain to get set up], food about $200. Typically the rest needs to be saved/spent on transportation, medical care, and essentials. So someone struggling in a low-end part-time job wouldn't have any reasonable circumstance for purchasing a console. Similarly, those on disability are right about in the same income range.

Hard to compare against your region's circumstances without knowing the deductions involved but, going off your console prices, it doesn't seem overly likely that your low-end lower class is too much better off.

Of course, if we bump our reference point over here up a step, we can get 50 hours at 10.5/hr [ie, moving from legal minimum wage to the unofficial minimum wage that big name companies have largely moved towards], putting us just about right at $2000/month for someone working two low-end jobs with less-awful pay. Decent housing can run $800-1000, food and essentials and all probably no more than $500 [y'know, when you're not cutting corners on those things anymore].
Similarly, someone with a better paying job can run fewer [ie, more reasonable] hours. Either way, should be a buffer of about $500 from a month's pay. So, struggling-to-survive individuals aside, a lower class American could probably buy a retail price console with a single month's pay, without a significant amount of stress involved (assuming no other expenses on their part).

Once you move to the lower middle class bracket [about $3,800/month pre-taxes], it's likely not a big issue to buy a console within a month, unless you're in a circumstance like being single working parent who is taking care of a household of kids*, paying off a large mortage or car loan or student loans, or similar. [*Of course, technically your bracket may change based on household size, but I'm just looking at it from the perspective of a single person's income. Well, to make it more fitting, we could consider child support as a substitution for the example. :P]

Upper middle class is about $12,000/month pre-taxes, so a console is probably a relatively insignificant purchase for them. :P

It feels a bit spammy to keep this thread open for somewhat off-topic conversation this far after the deal has ended, so I'm going to close the thread. Do feel free to respond in any of my giveaways, if you're so inclined (I'm curious as to how $350/month actually works out for you all, after all). :)

Since you also seem to have picked up the deal, just going to note:
I didn't end up getting an e-mail, but it did apply to my account properly on its own.
It's only valid for items which are both sold by and fulfilled by Amazon (rather than just fulfilled by Amazon), but if you put a qualifying item in your cart, you'll see the "Happy Twitch" reduction automatically applied on the checkout screen. If you just want to test if the credit got added properly, just add any AmazonBasics item into your cart. Likewise, just a reminder that the credit does expire end of December. :)

That Last of Us game case I got looks pretty tasty, it's a pity I don't actually have a console to run it on at the moment, ha. ^.^

Well, I don't imagine I'll ever be using Prime outside of trials, so I don't imagine I'll see too many of those offers even if they do become more common. :S

They had the Starlink Starter Pack for Nintendo Switch on there before as well but it sold out. Hopefully they add something more interesting before the offer expires.
