DKC is coming out in November of this year, Mario Kart spring 2014, Pikmin 3 is coming out in a month and a half (July 26 for Europe, July 27 for Australia, August 4 for North America).
Also, The Wonderful 101 is coming out in August (September for North America), Wind Waker in October, and Bayonetta 2 in 2014.
And add Smash Bros. to the list for 2014. I'm pretty excited for all these (except Wind Waker which I already have on GameCube), and I think they make the WiiU totally worth it.

You might consider what games you prefer to play, some are only on nintendo some are only on ps4, ect ect, before maybe spending money on a console ur unsure of, probably do some research on what YOU like to play and then choice the console from there and probably sell ur old one to fund the new console?. Atleast thats what i would do, and i ended up with a nintendo 3DS lol :D

Yup, few reasons i got 3DS are; zelda, virtual console (older zelda/ mega man) and i will probably pick up Fire Emblem Awakening at some point, not now atleast to many games atm.
quick edit; atleast on WII U (from my view/opinion) you got games like Bayonetta 2, Smash bros(awesoem), super mario world, legend of zelda HD and Wind waker to look foward.

Ive actually played the demo, tho its really short demo lol which is annoying but from the little i played yeah, it seems solid, like the battles / tacticts
i dont actually see the fun in animal crossing, not sure why that game is fun to play? :P

Yeah, I think that makes a lot of sense. Here's he way I look at it with Nintendo consoles: you know there's going to be one, possibly two Zelda games, two or three Marios, one Smash Bros., and ten or more other games over its life span from the grab bag of Donkey Kong/Pikmin/Metroid/Star Fox/F-Zero/Kirby/new IPs/etc. To me, those games alone make the console worth it.
(And since you're talking 3DS as well, I'm gonna bang the drum here for 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward. They're awesome games if you like a deep/mind-blowing story. They're basically visual novels with point-and-click-ish puzzle rooms.)

Indeed,is not that bad,but with the release of PS4 and Xbox 1,the price will drop over time (1-2-3 months). But if he wants it so bad,i would recommend it.A friend of mine has a WII and i think that i had more fun on the WII with all the controlers (normal ones, football, tennis racket, etc) than i had on the PS3 or Xbox 360.It's so much fun when you meet with your friends and try to play tennis,or football,or golf with the WII, rather than just sit on the couch and use a simple controller, but, that is my opinion, maybe other like Xbox or PS more..

Neg my fallopian tubes are still perfectly situated with one going to each side and completely uncreased, that being said they are used to being the site of insemination between my eggs and my pc's sperm and would never consider consenting to the chance of a post-fertilisation mutant egg resulting from contact with any console.

Yes you should buy a Wii U imo. It's still a bit low on games but it will change soon (+ I never had a Wii so i'm still having a lot of fun with those games in the meanwhile). And hey, SSB, Mario Kart, new zelda, 3D mario, etc will be released someday those will give the Wii U a HUGE boost I think.
I've already had quite some fun with Zombi U, Lego City Undercover, New Super Mario Bros U and Nintendoland.
And, not an exclusive but still worth it: Sonic & All-Stars Racing is a good temporarily Mario Kart replacement (+ it's nice to play with a friend without having a splitscreen, one uses the TV, other ones the screen on the controller) :P

All of the games I listed in that sentence are exclusives.. Thanks for reading.
Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed isn't but it's worth it imo because the gamepad screen is a nice addition to play with friends without having a splitscreen (or to play with 5 friends instead of 4 compared to other platforms, but that still has splitscreen obviously ;D).

Hey Guys,
I own a old normal wii (since the release) and a few games I never played (a shame on me), I'd like to play now (like mario galaxy 2, both zeldas, xenoblade, pandoras tower etc), but I dont have a tv for the next years.
Now I thought, there a 2 things I could do. I could buy a wii hdmi converter for my pc monitor for 28€ or just buy a wii u for 179/222€, which got hdmi and can play wii games. This would basicly make me cost the wii u basic just around 150€ and the premium like 195€, because I dont need the converter.
But I cant decide what I should buy... I mean there arent many games out for the wii u atm, but I hope for some great nintendo titles in the next years.
(dont know if I should sell my old wii then, i dont think its worth much.)
So what should i do?
