Edit: I know this will sound stupid, but Serious Sam has some pretty nasty jumpscares aswell.

I was a scaredy-cat back when Doom 3 was released.
Even reading through the game guide made me shit my pants. I'd never seen graphics so realistic and life-like.
I never actually bought the game, though. And for a long while Doom 3 was my reference for anything scary. "It may be scary, but is it as scary as Doom 3?"

Alan Wake, Amnesia, Dead Space..

I was playing Doom 3 on a computer that was custom-built to run it and HL2. About halfway through, when everything was going spectacularly pear-shaped, my new computer's power-supply burnt out.

Dramatically. It made a really loud machine-gun sputter, flames shot out the fan grille, everything.

Again, I was playing Doom 3. In a poorly-lit room. With the sound up.

I jumped back about eight feet before I realized what was really happening. Thankfully, the burst of adrenaline helped me get to the power-cord really really fast.

F.E.A.R. 1 and 2. Despite many people saying that the second one wasn't scary I still consider the school level there the most frightening thing I've ever experienced in gaming. :D

i can't fuck with scary games. like none. at all. they make me cry & need tons of therapy.

BUTTTTT i'm anxiously awaiting the release of Among the Sleep. i'm probably never gonna make it to the end, but i've gotta try it out. its not every day you get to play a game from the perspective of a 2 year old.

The 1st Silent Hill was pretty scary, but that game looks medieval by todays standards.
I only played Outlast for 30 minutes, but I had one wtf moment already. Just try it.

Yeah, those should do for now. And for the record, the new Amnesia is good, and only Dear Esther hating crybabies say it's shit. Thankfully Steamgifts doesn't have a lot of those, but don't start looking around in its community threads, since it's on a /v/ level of shitposting at the moment.
