Do you own boxed copies of Dawn of War, but don't own the game on Steam? We are supplying owners of boxed copies with free Steam keys so you can continue to enjoy Dawn of War without having to pay again.

You can request your Steam key(s) by filing a ticket here:
https://support.sega.co.uk/hc/en-us/requests/new

Please note that SEGA may need to verify your boxed copies and this may involve them requesting photos of your box or other information. We thank you for your patience and hope to get you back in the WAAAGH as soon as possible!

EA was just as nice. I had 2 games in physical disc form (C & C 3 Tiberium Wars and Spore) with expired codes. When I asked EA to add both games to my Origin library they said yes if I can show them pictures of my box copies, which I did.

It depends on the publisher but I've received keys from 2k and Slitherine in the past for games I had a physical copy of. You can always send an email and ask :)

What do you mean ?
You have a steam copy on another account and you wana get a key for this one as well?
Not really sure if you even read the topic ....

Basically if you own the real life physical copy of the game (disk) you can request a steam key for it by providing some info Sega requests from you .
If you have the game on steam , you can't just ask for another copy ...

Some time back, before they added Steam cards, I asked Sega if they would give me a Steam key for the original DoW and expansions, after I'd bought them digitally from Direct2Drive some years before (D2D gave CD keys that are required to play the game, but were not Steam-compatible).

They were nice enough to oblige me.

so generous, a 12 years old game. i think it's easier to buy it rather than searching for the boxed game, take pics and upload them.

EA does pretty much the same with his older titles like MoH Pacific Assault or Dead Space. You can use the code in the box to activate the game on Origin. If it doesn't work through the client you can contact support, provide the key and they will activate it.
It should work for every EA game released between 2005 and now, except for some FIFA or other licensed games like Harry Potter.

EA allowed me to add 2 games(C& C Tiberium Wars and Spore) to my Origin library after I provided proof(pictures I sent) that I had boxed physical copies of both games.

Or they could have simply made it free for everyone ? It's not like it was a new game....Good luck to find your 12 years old boxed game!

Pretty sure they know how this very personal of yours looks like, having seen it thousand times already. It would be personal if they want your face right besides it. It's just someones box, to them.

Sega is one of the best publisher outthere. providing steam key for boxed and, expecially, giving us big discount on not so recent games... Activision should take note and learn how to treat customers and marketing

Requesting keys with physical copies of old games is a cool concept, it's much better than having them on Steam for full price when retailers sell old copies for a couple of bucks.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting SEGA Support.

Unfortunately there is no steam key exchange program for normal retail copies of our game's. I'm afraid we cannot help you any further with your enquiry.
