Someone random person added me on Steam this morning and when I asked why they said it was because they "liked my vibe". What does that mean? Do I have a vibe by default, are there different versions of vibe or just one, can you lose a vibe?

Help me understand this, thank you

They mean that you seem to have a likable/nice/trustworthy/positive energy, personality or character about you. It's not something you lose, but it's who you are by nature.

Vibe is slang that came from vibrations, meaning the energy you give off. Something that can't be seen per se, but can certainly be felt, usually by means of intuition.

As we tend to remember negative more strongly than positive (since that's a survival skill after all) I'll give the opposite example.

Have you ever met someone that puts a feeling in you that you just can't explain but its really unpleasant — alarm bells are going off in your head telling you that this person is bad news and you should probably get away from them — but there's no reason you can justifiably pinpoint? You could say that person is giving off bad vibes (deliberately a more extreme example here). There's definitely many more harmless examples than the extreme ones, like someone being negative to the point of being draining to interact with, but the basic idea is the same. And I find the "creepy stranger" example to be the easiest way to explain anything having to do with intuition because its so universally understood and to the point.

Them saying they like your vibe is definitely a nice inoffensive compliment. But since this is just a net profile what they actually mean could be something as simple as saying they like your profile aesthetic.

This is a vibe. And I'm shocked that nobody else mentioned it.

Oh, wow. Do you people feel that mojo? Xarabas, it is overwhelming, it is not just any "mojito", it is a MOJONGO! Not surprised a random person could feel it through the internetz.

I'm in awe. Marry me?

;D

Cheers!

The first few responses are the most accurate...

But the rest of the responses are much more entertaining!
