Now, as we all know that Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming to PC, and there are no confirmed specs for it just yet.
What does everyone predict the specs will be like?

Looking back at grand Theft Auto 4's specs, they were quite, low?

Same specs as GTA 4, that's my guess

That's what I'm thinking, but just a bit more.

GTA IV runs like ass. Crap optimization. When i first got it, i was playing with 2.5GB of RAM, a 4870 and a Q6600 Dual Core processor. When i upgraded to my 2500k, 8GB RAM, AMD 6950. I thought I'd run the game like a hot knife through butter. WRONG. I could get 60FPS in the middle of the city, but often i'd get bad drops. When the game first came out, everyone was all "THEY'RE GONNA OPTIMIZE IT, JUST WAIT AND STOP CRYING" I'm still waiting. lol. I really hope GTA V runs a lot better.

I remember that they said they made GTA IV "Future proof" lol. Nice way of saying "New rigs 10 yrs from now, will still struggle running this poorly optimized game"

Max Payne 3 run a lot better. Same engine. (But optimising linear games is far easier because devs know exactly what route you take and more limited visibility. (everything apart from main route can be static image)

If they modify it enough (higher resolution textures, higher polycount, more complex shaders, etc), maybe i5 2500, 6GB RAM, 50GB size, 1+ GB VRAM. If not, no reason for ps3/360 port to require those specifications. Or it could get Max Payne 3 treatment and be highly optimized, pushing requirements down even more. Or we could get IV all over again.

I'm not worried about spec, it is more can they optimise game better then they optimised GTA 4, like it needs to be 200% better.

I'm just going to assume Max Payne 3 is our benchmark.

Same as Dead Rising 3? GTX 570, 6GB RAM, and a quad core of some kind for minimum?

Imo something between GTA4 and Max Payne 3. Also, look at THIS, quick trailer analyze, that may give a glimpse about the specs.

Whatever it ends up requiring, my FX8350 and Radeon 7970 Ghz Edition will be fine.

  • Quantum centi-core processor @ 1THz

  • 1 TB tri-state QDR RAM

  • mega-cell direct neural true 4D VR/video adapter w/ 2TB VR-RAM (note: requires standard direct optical port at base of cerebral cortex)

  • 50PB crystaline storage drive

Of course this is just preliminary. ;)
