I rented a PS3 just to play journey
I would do it again for The Last of Us but I think I'm going to wait for the PS4 and hope that the uncharted series and the last of us will be available on it

PS4 won´t have retro so they say, so don´t expect to play PS3 games on them.

there will be remades or I could buy them from PSstore if sony list them as classic game since people can still play some old PS2 games bought from PSstore, no backward compatibility only hurt disc users

All PSN purchases you make now will be invalidated on your PS4, remember that.
There will be a new store for the PS4, and they'll only be bringing out a limited subset of the older PS games. Maybe not even any PS1 / PS2 games, only PS3 ones.

masterpiece.
Trully one of the best games ever created, in the survival horror category... Good luck to the follow ups, the bar has been raised, and it´s ridiculously high.

Yep, it appears that the game will not be a dissapointment.
Well, i suppose that i'll rent a PS3 to play it. Bioshock Infinite was by far the best game i've played in this gen. This one might change my opinion? XD

looks good but L4D3 will be better as long as i can play it with my nVIDIA GeForce 9800 gt
Comment has been collapsed.
nVIDIA GeForce 9800 gt has 512mb gddr3 and it runs 1920 x 1200 fine with no hiccups from lack of video memory

1) What does L4D3 have to do with this game? One's a 4 player co-op shooter / action game with no storyline, the other's a single player adventure / survival horror game with a linear storyline.. Bit of a random-ass comparison to make. Like saying "an apple is better than a bottle of vodka". Makes no sense.
2) "..and it runs 1920 x 1200 fine.." - what does it run fine? And what does how it runs what you're talking about here have to do with how well / badly L4D3 will run on your card? You don't know anything about L4D3 yet. Maybe it will come out on the next Source engine? And I think your GPU might have trouble with that engine's games when it comes out.
Truly random comments that make no sense..

It's yet another one in an increasingly prevalent trend in gaming. A game with so polished scripted sequences, setpeices and story that will easily impress anyone at a first glance but looses it's sheen a few hours in due to it's mediocre and unfitting gameplay that games like Uncharted, Bioshock and Call of Duty popularized.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, because Uncharted and Bioshock are mediocre at best, right?
Pft... damn hipsters. Go play your indie games.

Uncharted 2 is good but I wouldn't play it again any time soon. The same applies to Bioshock or Infinite. They deliver great initial experiences and if that is what you are after then they are fine games. Replaying them quickly reveals how boring, tedious and just plain badly designed the actual game mechanics are. Uncharted 3 is an example of going to the extremes of stupidity, I found it's 4 hour campaign unbearable and I couldn't bring myself to finish it.
If you are playing these games expecting to play an actual game, then like me, you will be severely disappointed.
As a whole Uncharted and Bioshock are good but their saving grace is not the gameplay, but the experiences they funnel you through.
I also think most indie games are garbage and in many cases often worse than 90% of the AAA trash.

If they deliver a great experience the first time you beat the game, then it's not a bad game. If you play it over, and over and over again, of course it is gonna get boring. It's like movies, you see them once, maybe twice and then it loses it's first time magic. No there is no need to bash on AAA titles just because you get bored easy.

Great games use the experience to elevate the game, not use the experience as a crutch to deliver bad gameplay. I've played Dark Souls through well over 10 times and I still enjoy it.
Any game can be subjectively good, but a game with mediocre gameplay is just that. Although these games often result in something that is greater than the sum of all its parts, a game with tedious gameplay and inane AI like The Last of Us isn't a good game, it's a good experience.
I'd also like to add that most of these games cannot even deliver a coherent experience either, where the gameplay works against the story. Upon closer inspection, games like Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us, Uncharted all have just plain dumb design decisions, and if you turn your brain off and follow the internet hivemind, you might be tricked into thinking these games are good when really it's just a game with just enough hype and polish to mask the odour of its rotten gameplay. Games like these are judged based on the impression they create "Wow that looks real cool, check out those graphics!" or "Wow check out those animations" and the gameplay and coherence often falls to the wayside.

It's funny that I haven't played a single one of all the good games you mentioned, though I have Red Orchestra 2, just haven't gotten round to playing it yet. I know almost all of them though.

I have a PS3. It's gathering dust in the a corner since I play almost all Steam games now, with the occasional 3DS game.

Prediction: There's going to be a whole lot of purchases... and shortly thereafter, a whole lot of sad little discs also sitting in some dark corner.
I think the PS3 will be pretty inexpensive in just a few months, and we all have tons of games we haven't even played (right?). Hope I can wait to play The Last of Us. (I sold my PS3 in disgust in 2011: Hacks, DRM, console prices, company direction, etc. Xbox seems somehow worse?!)

Looks like a good game to me, but not that masterpiece everyone is talking about, i won't get it.
The only thing that interest me is the story, gameplay doesn't fascinate me and they shouldn't have done the multiplayer, they should have focussed even more on a better single player experience

It looked good ever since I saw it, just a shame they didn't bring it to PC. That state of decay game on xbox arcade also looks decent but it's too laggy on xbox.

I really liked I am Alive and The Last of Us looks like a game that took it and improved it.
I only play on PC, but maybe in a year or two I might buy a second-hand PS3 for those interesting exclusives (like TLoU) that came out during the years. Or ask a friend to lend me his one. :D

Thinking About it, Naughty Dog should make a full HD remake for Crash Bandicoot... Oh it'll make me so happy XD

Yeah, though without ANY gameplay changes, just a full graphical overhaul basically :D

So, this game has 95 in metacritic, and a bunch of reviewers just give it a 10/10.
This might be the only game that make me regret not having a PS3 in adition to my beloved PC.
What are your thoughts about this game?
If it's really that good, i'll rent a PS3 just to play it :D
