I don't have an existing PayPal account and someone was selling Proteus for $2 so I thought, what the hell, I'll buy it. I have a debit card. So I head on over to PayPal to send a gift. I enter my email, the recipients email, and the amount I'm going to send. It takes me to the sign up page to register an account along with the debit card. I do that. But when all that's said and done, it keeps telling me that the transaction can't be completed. The PayPal balance reads $0.00 USD, so I'm guessin that's why it can't be completed.

What should I do? I want Proteus + thebitcoinbundle but can't so that without a working PayPal.

Link your bank account, let them verify it, link the debit card, log in to your account to send the payment and use the debit card option.

Yeah, I can't do that. At least I don't think I can. I have the Visa gift card.

You mentioned that you had a debit card. Do you have a Visa gift card (a disposable credit card) or a Debit card (a card for direct transactions with your bank account), or both?

It's the disposable one. Thing is, I was able to use these gift cards before without verifying anything. That's why I don't understand why I can't use it anymore.

You said you were trying to link a Debit Card to your account. If you are trying to link a Credit Card as a Debit Card, it won't work. Make sure you add it as a new Credit Card. Your account won't be verified without a valid bank account but you should be able to send money and make transactions.

You can, just skip liking your bank account. Create an account, link your visa prepaid card, click send money on top. Get his PP email and pay with your prepaid credit card.

That's when I get the issue telling me that the transaction couldn't be completed.

You need to link a valid bank account with a card a giftcard will not do (it may be different in your country). The verification process can take up to 3 or 4 days, also depending on whether you use a debit or credit card and depending on your bank you may not be able to use "instant banking" on your paypal account, which means that you can basically transfer funds from your bank immediately instead of having to send an e-cheque which takes 5 days to clear.

I know it sounds very long winded but once your account is set up it is clean sailing from there.
