Thank you again for the wildlife pictures. I like the National Geographic kind of twist in your recent threads. ^^

Seems like a couple of days after death due to the bloating. We were really surprised that nothing ate it.

NC Day 5
Lunch at Buxton Munch Co. Fried Flounder and Chips, Grouper Fish Tacos. The fish certainly tasted like it was frozen at some point. The rice and beans for the tacos were hard. Not sure how this place is so highly rated.
Next up: Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. Tricolor heron - very good at fishing. Must have gotten at least 10 fish while we were watching. Lots of turtles sunning. There was also a river otter swimming around in the lake, but we couldn't get a good picture of it.
Next: The Beach near the Oregon Inlet US Lifesaving Station. The area was completely empty, thanks in part due to being in the off season, but also because the bridge was under construction and blocking all the parking spaces and such. We got our pick of shells. There were also a bunch of skate or shark eggs lying in the sand.
Also lying in the sand was some kind of small mammal. Anyone knows what it is? We did give it a proper burial.
Dinner was Ice Cream from Sccops Homemade Ice Cream Parlor.
