Sleeping Dogs except they have a superb story, characters you can't not fall in love with, mostly great boss fights and city environments that actually feel alive.
Also, this is SD karaoke, THIS is Yakuza karaoke (skip to 1:15 to witness the Lord of The Night in all his glory). And bonus from the zombie spin off game, because everyone needs to know how perfect Majima is
Seriously, buy them.

'Nuff said. I'm in! Sleeping Dogs is one of my favorites.

If you know Shenmue. It's like this.

Sleeping Dogs is more "GTA-like" than Yakuza.

Good news anyway, i hope that Persona 5 is next on the list. Praise SEGA!

YEEES !! Finally. I'd have bought the games on PS4 once I get the console, but seeing them on PC/Steam, my favorite gaming platform, is a dream come true. Seriously, the Yakuza games are among the best exclusives on the Sony console. Hoping for Persona 5, Catherine and other releases as well.

I've never played these games before. Would the story make sense if I started on the new one, or are they all connected?

Great thanks! It didn't catch my eye at first but from what everyone is saying, it sounds like a lot of fun.

They're all connected, you get concise synopses of the previous games each time, so you can technically start with either of them and still be able to follow and enjoy the story, but it's far better to play them in their chronological order or even in the order of release, since Yakuza 0 is a prequel to the series.

The only downside is that Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami (Remake of Yakuza 1) Yakuza Kiwami 2 (Remake of Yakuza 2) are much more refined technically than the older releases (Yakuza 3 and 4). But who knows, we might actually see a remake/PC port of these games too, if the current releases sell very well.

More like, fairly priced. It's a high-quality game, despite the price tag.

I wouldn't agree, $18 as regular price for a fantastic 60h long (with bonus content) story driven game is basically free and not "fairly priced" imo

Fair enough, I hope it helps with the sales. There's always the option to buy extra copies to friends and family and support the game that way.

What is the chronological order of the Yakuza games. I only understand Yakuza 0 is the prequel to all the other games in the series, so it is the first game to play.

Yakuza 0 (2015)
Yakuza 1 (2005) / Kiwami (2016)
Yakuza 2 (2006)
Yakuza 3 (2009)
Yakuza 4 (2010)
Yakuza 5 (2012)
Yakuza 6 (2016)

So this is obviously another sign of SEGA finally starting to realize that the west loves Ryu Ga Gotoku to death aswell. I know that I shouldn't think about things like that but maybe, just maybe this could one day lead to Kenzan and Ishin getting a localisation. SEGA, I'm begging you, I need to experience seeing Majima as Okita Souji before I die, please ;-;

Sweet 💖. I wanted to try the Yakuza games for a long time now, so happy SEGA is taking good care of the PC community and their games are fairly priced. I heard only good things about Bayonetta and Vanquish PC ports, really looking forward to get my hands on it (Valkyria Chronicles 4 too drool).
Persona 4 and 5 will surely come too, what a year!

EDIT : You can preorder Yakuza 0 on fanatical and get a 20% discount.

Oh, very useful. 10€ was just the price to make me risk it. But previous ports published by SEGA were good, and the game should be good too. Honestly I think I haven't heard of this series before. Thanks.

Now I can play the series from the start.

Whoa, that's really exciting. Hopefully this gives the Yakuza series more attention, it really deserves it! ...Also, I had no idea there was a Yakuza manga, I'm interested in seeing what's in it haha.
