Hey everyone. I just download a program (Parsec) and realized the program has a nice feature that lets you join other people's games.

I was wondering if there is a more populated/famous alternative for this. Or the best option is still writing Steam discussions :/

Parsec is the only one I am really aware of, at least for turning couch co-op games into online multiplayer games which is pretty cool in itself. I hope someone will have your answer so here's a little BUMP to help you get there ^-^

there are few programs that allow remote play, including Steam's
but i don't know any that have a lobby.
but you can find players online and invite them for a game

There is player.me. But I never tried it so I don't know how it works.

Well, looks like it is more for streamers. In their FAQ they are recommend another program for lan play (which is a dead link right now)

Oh, I confused Bowstring with Player.me. But that doesn't matter now since it's dead :D

Doesn't Steam do this already? What differences are you looking for?

I'm pretty sure the OP is looking for a software which also displays open lobbies, like Evolve used to do.

I read you, and re-read the OP, and I still don't catch that distinction, but oh well, maybe you're right. :)

I might be wrong, but "Or the best option is still writing Steam discussions :/" gave me that idea, as Steam discussions can be used to find strangers to play with via Remote Play. But yeah, right now only the OP knows for sure.

Parsec can be combined well with Discord servers for specific co-op games, if you're trying to find people to play with. If a game has a large base of players, you can often find someone to play with pretty quickly. Just google the game title + discord, then ask around for people interested in playing.

Yeah, looks like that is the way :/ (either Discord or Steam Discussions)

Back in the day I used to play DotA over Garena which I believe simulated LAN and also had open lobbies and supported a variety of different multiplayer games. I don't know if it still works the same though since it has been many years since I have used it.
