I don't have much of an ear for audio puzzles. Is all of this music from the Assassin's Creed franchise?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Some of it. Most of it isn't from any games at all, just trailer music.

Comment has been collapsed.

Heh, all of them. I never watch trailers and rarely take note of music in games. I would need hints like you added for #11 and #20 for the other 18 to have any shot at solving.

Absolutely amazing music, though. :)

Name of the song is: The _____ (complete the blank, one word, capitalized)

It actually starts at 25:45... My original post wasn't very well formulated, I agree on that :)

Are you sure Q13 is correct? I've found the track, where it comes from (like, exactly the sound of it), but the answer is not being accepted.

Thanks for your willingness to add hints for anyone who asks for them. Given that you've already added hints for half of the questions (which allowed me to solve them), would you consider adding hints for the rest?

Or, more formally, would you please add hints for 2-5, 7, 10, 16-19? :)

Can you pick a subset of those? I wanna add hints gradually, seeing that (as you mentioned) half already have hints. Maybe suggest some of the tougher ones and I'll post hints for those first.

Sure, let's see. Q2 sounds familiar (I think it's from a famous movie franchise) and I got Q16 without a hint (the only one so far!), so how about Q3-Q5?

This is totally confusing, I don't see anywhere what the questions are, or where we're to give you the answers even. Are we just naming off the tracks? Also my vote, which question was hardest. Um, all of them? Nice music though, at least there's that.

Names of songs that play in this compilation (first sentence in the puzzle). Starts at .... is only there to help you figure out where each track starts and stops. Click on Good luck! hyperlink in the main post maybe?

Bump!

Comment has been collapsed.

Ew. I don't like these kind of "puzzles" where they aren't puzzles they are just 'Load up AudioTag, press play, copy and paste songs identified by AudioTag.' Anyways, here's a bump and some hope that maybe one day you'll make a puzzle that's actually a puzzle. :D

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

well then don't use audio tag... I enjoyed jbondguys puzzles where we had to identify soundtracks from movies, so i decided to do something similar

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

But like people have already stated: none of the music in this video have memorable names engrained through cultural reverence or endless playing on the airwaves.
Soundtracks from movies is much more relatable than songs from video game trailers -- seemingly especially Ubisoft trailers for some reason (lines up with your obsession of Assassin's Creed via username/avatar/etc).
You should just be happy for the bump! :P

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Admittedly a 3rd of the music from this compilation happens to be AC related because this was published around the time black flag came out (and yes, I do like the AC series, though I'm skipping AC Unity).
Also, Two Steps From Hell, Fired Earth Music, Audiomachine, Immediate Music are all fairly well known for anyone who listens to trailer music; and quite a few people told me they enjoyed this puzzle in the GA. And look mate, I didn't ask you for a bump, no need to be a jerk about it - you should just be happy for the chance to win a decent non bundled game.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's my opinion. I wasn't being a jerk, I was being playful. Regardless, no one listens to "trailer music". Have fun being self-righteous.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Uhm, sure it may not be mainstream but people do listen to it; anyway, good luck. Cheers!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'd like to throw in my case against them. I found this kinda challenging because of the abundance of AC music- although I like the games, I don't know the names of any of the songs- but I do listen to trailer music in general, and quite several of the songs were immediately identifiable. Plenty of people like their epic music.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Simply adding a :D or :P to the end of a post doesn't make it any less abrasive. If a puzzle isn't for you, then just move on. What you wrote would have put anyone on the defensive.

The world is filled with criticism. Deal with it. :D

Plenty of people listen to trailer music. Having trouble seeing how he's being self-righteous when he's the cordial one here.
