The same way they can do a job interview with you for a programmer's position and the interview is done over the phone, they're asking you to write a small example program right away and read it line by line to them over the phone refusing to accept it in text form you could send to them over the internet, or they ask you to meet them in a noisy environment of a restaurant instead of the office and they give you a paper with a test on it you have to go through right there to show them your programming skills, and last but not least the same way as they can inform you that you lost your job over the skype, email, text message on phone and then treat you like a criminal asking you to immediately leave everything be and grab your stuff and leave with a guard companion who's there to make sure you don't steal anything what's not yours when you leave...

I just thought about that too. I have never used Desura and I don't have an account, but I happen to have one single key. If I activated that now, would I then be able to download the game and have it, as long as I don't uninstall it?

Yes, I'm almost absolutely sure. It's DRM-Free, which means that once installed, it's no longer linked to Desura in any way.

External HD's are getting cheaper every day, but if you can't afford anything out of pocket right now there are a few cloud options available. It would be the time consuming part of the process that you'd have to weigh and determine how much you value the collection though.
