So I bought the used PS3 bundle, now looking for a monitor, someone's selling this Samsung SyncMaster 2043 used for $100, should I get it...? Thanks for all the help y'all, don't have many tech-savvy friends apart from my ex at the moment ._.

List of the stuff (pic)
I bid $190 and got it, what do you people think? Thanks to all the kind comments, was nervous because it's my first time getting a console and it was a short time limit so I didn't have enough time to research fully :)

That's reassuring, never bought a console before so was nervous about not knowing the value of stuff and it was a pretty limited time offer so I didn't have time to look everything up.

Some nice games in there, can't hurt, if you are willing to spend some cash to get the chance for a PS3 library.

Yeah makes me feel better, I can prob resell games I wouldn't need at a decent price too, also they have games I already own on PC but I wouldn't mind playing on console (I'd need to get a used monitor though haha)

Be sure to play the R&C games first. The PS3 collection isn't perfect, but they are great games.

Yeah, they were selling it all in a bundle and not separately, my ex played R&C and it looked pretty great, I might resell BL2 or other games I already own on Steam haha.

Considering Ghosts and BF4 just came out, that's $120 right there. If you have the funds to spare, I'd go for it.

Canada. They had a deal going for those and AC4, trade any one game (provided in good condition) for one of those three games. Even some release sports game would be fine.

Personally, I would only go with R&C Collection and Bioshock (Only ones I have actually played). Not that I'm judging the others, just haven't had the chance to play them.

You have **** taste yourself if you think Ratchet & Clank, Borderlands 2 or Dark Souls are bad.

And besides, they didn't pick the games listed, they purchased a used console bundle.

Dark Souls and a PS3 alone would be worth it, especially with a controller, much less two.

BF4 + COD Ghosts just came out. They alone would be worth ~$120.

You got a great deal.

Just noticed that, lol. Still doesn't change the fact that the OP had a good deal.

The most important thing to monitor for the presence of this PS3 - HDMI + audio output on the monitor. PS3 does not have a DVI.
I do not know whether this is true for you. I would take the monitor with HDMI. And do not forget that in addition to video, you will need to output sound. Need a monitor with a headphone output.

Unless you use the normal A/V cables to output sound to speakers or Optical for 5.1 or 7.1.

And if you have no 5.1 or 7.1 or speakers with A/V cables input? My friend has no opportunity an output a sound. The monitor is, and a sound an output not from where. I too wouldn't have a sound if the monitor wasn't with jack output. Now I play on TV. But few months ago I had no it and used the monitor.

Still council to you to subscribe for PS+. At forums it is possible to find free of charge month of promo codes for those who never subscribed for plus. Try, it shall be pleasant. I subscribed in the first day of purchase of the console. Itself I bought PS3 at the beginning of July. Now almost only on it also I play.

I wouldn't buy that monitor, no. You can buy a brand new 20-21.5" for around that same price on Newegg, Amazon, etc. For $150-175 you could jump to 24" instead.
You could probably walk in to a pawn shop or thrift store and leave with a larger TV cheaper as well.

So no, I'd say that the monitor is kinda a rip off and not worth more than about $50-75 tops, and you could spend your $100 or so on a better option quite easily.

Monitors used are sketchy, you don't know if there's something slightly off with the calibration or if there's a bad component until you get it home and test it, and once you do it could always be blamed on your handling of the monitor, so no.
