So, I was sitting here thinking, "Man, I wish I had the original Halo game for the PC..." So I looked around to see if normal stores carried it and, like I expected, no one had it... A while back (like a few months ago) I was looking around in the Best Buy store and they actually had it, but I had no money so I couldn't get it and figured I'd buy it later... Now, I checked their site and it's not there... So, is there any store people know that carry it, or will I have to buy it from Microsoft, Bungie or Amazon?

Amazon would be the best option. There's also the other auction sites and whatnot.

Darn... I was hoping there would be a store... Maybe BestBuy still has it they just don't say it? Oh well... I can probably go to Amazon and see...

The problem is, I don't feel comfortable pirating stuff... I just don't... I would love to pirate it along with Freelancer, but last time I tried Freelancer, the game didn't work...

Keep in mind it's legal in some countries. But I get the point.

Must be very rare. I do know a few countries in EU where downloading movies/music is legal but software never is.

Ah well, I'm no saint. I've done 'bad' things myself :p

This is a valid concern, but think of it this way: the powers that be have decided to shut down the Halo CE servers. As the franchise's multiplayer is one of its strongest selling points, this is equivalent to pulling the product entirely. If it is no longer available for purchase, pirating it causes no harm because no revenue is lost.

And this is why I was leaning towards pirating both games, I'm still on the fence though...

Yes I know that it is here, I was tempted to get it, but my thing is that they created the Anniversary edition which I have for the Xbox, so I figured I should have a right to have it for free... I've spent hundreds on the game, I might as well get something back...

Why should you have the right to get it for free if you bought it another platform? You bought it for xbox so you own the game on xbox, not PC.

Like emulators: It's allowed if you own the console AND the game you're playing. You don't have the right to play a game you own on another system than you've bought it.

Yes I know, I was joking... I'm going to buy Halo CE if I get the chance, but Freelancer can only be bought on Amazon for like $60 so that one may or may not be pirated... I don't know... Probably not...

60$ for Freelancer lol. Amazing game but wtf $60.. :p

Anyhow (imo): don't say things like that (not talking about the post I replied too though, just piracy in general). My advice: Shut up about it and 'insert Nike quote'.

:p

Fry's

It doesn't have a ton of stores, but you can see if they have one near you.

This is it, right? They have a "check availability" button you can use to find the nearest copy.

It would be too easy. Just write to them, maybe they will sold you some old copy of the game. That's just a theory, they just can reply to your mail with something like "Oh, we're really sorry, but Halo 1 is so f....g old and we're not shipping it to any shop already."

A few GameStops still have it in the physical store. The PC game section at my local store always has at least one, though it's been there so long, the plastic of the case has started to fuse with the ink of the insert...

Also, if you're looking for any video game pre-2007, always run by OfficeMax. Still the cheapest price for a lot of the golden-age Star Wars games, may well have Halo...
