GHz Question

Just a quick question. My computers processor has 2.1GHz, and next to that in brackets, it says (3 CPU's) meaning?

I assume it means it has 3 cores. Which more or less means you've got 3x 2.1 processors. You can have 3 processing running at the same time, each taking 2.1Ghz... Now I might be wrong, I used to follow this stuff close but it's been a few years.

The only thing i will say, that it doesnt mean you have a 6,3 GHz Cpu.
