Firstly it's always better to comment on the giveaway itself first, and then let them reply that way.
Once you've made contact then you can discuss the options.
Technically there shouldn't be any region restrictions if he bought the game through the HB Ukraine bundle, but if it does have restrictions, it's highly likely to be EU or CIS vs LATAM region restrictions.
The gifter probably won't be able to provide a region-unlocked key in this case.
Generally the only solution with region-locked giveaways is allowing the gifter to delete the giveaway - it's not the gifter's fault that the key ended up being locked, after all.

its probably because he is from argentina and I would guess that he got the key from the humble ukraine bundle which would give him a south america key from what I know. Edit: although looking at the bundles thread it should be a world wide key so who knows

Not to me since I own it already from last year on a monthly choice. If I remember, the game did have some bad restrictions.

I just want to point out that it has to be for the same game, do not accept different games and mark Metro Exodus received.
Happened before with many people who had the best in mind, and ended up them being suspended for some days.

I believe the HB Stand with Ukraine keys are locked out for Russian's, perhaps your IP is leased from a Russian IP block/range. IP to Geolocation is far from perfect.

So I won a giveaway for Metro Exodus, got super excited since its my first big game I won. Went to redeem the key and it says that ''sorry, but this product is not available for purchase in this country. your product key has not been redeemed''. So I was wondering what to do in this situation, any advice is appreciated.
