ASF is a C# application that allows you to farm steam cards using multiple steam accounts simultaneously. Unlike Idle Master which works only for one account at given time, requires steam client running in background, and launches additional processes imitating "game playing" status, ASF doesn't require any steam client running in the background, doesn't launch any additional processes and is made to handle unlimited steam accounts at once. In addition to that, it's meant to be run on servers or other desktop-less machines, and features full cross-OS support, which makes it possible to launch on any .NET Core-supported operating system, such as Windows, Linux or OS X. ASF is possible thanks to gigantic amount of work done in marvelous SteamKit2 library.

ASF doesn't require and doesn't interfere in any way with Steam client. In addition to that, it doesn't require exclusive access to given account, which means that you can use your main account in Steam client, and use ASF for idling the same account at the same time. If you decide to launch a game, ASF will get disconnected, and resume idling once you finish playing your game, being as transparent as possible during entire process.

How to fix this?

How about reading that message and reporting what it says? If you can't catch it up fast enough in the console window, there should be the log in ASF's main folder, if you didn't mess up horribly during configuration.

Without a detailed report or a crystal ball, there's nothing we can do, besides guessing that you might have a wrong config, or missing something basic like the .NET Core prerequisites or a few specific Windows Updates, or even not using the correct version.

The more details you give us, the more likely we are to be able to find a solution.

There is no way for web config generator to generate you invalid JSON file. If you claim that you had this issue when using web config gen then either you didn't try it at all, or you have no clue what is the issue you're having in the first place.

Indeed didn't switch them back since Valve's stupid change. However that means API key can punch through private setting, while Steam community fallback does not.
Though it should be able too, as ASF is logged in as the account holder and oneself can always see the own profile & games no matter the privacy settings.

Correct, that means Valve screwed up logic behind those two endpoints, which is more than common considering Steam is one big pile of spaghetti code. Nothing to fix in the program regarding that.

If I had to parse that HTML that barely ever loads I'd not consider fallback at all. But yes, it's pretty much the same, apart from the fact of one thing working properly and second one being broken, which is nothing new for me. Feed and endpoint is exactly the same, but second one is served as xml.

I assume that's caching. I tried around too: when changing to public then retrieving the xml, then changing back to private it still works, but likely not long.

Then it's like I said - a bug that needs correction on Valve side. Parsing HTML is not going to happen, even that fallback is bad, but it at least works and loads for my account, while html does not. And API remains the best.

Anyone else experiencing total lack of boosters since the crafting begun? Usually during sales you would get tons every day, but now almost nothing. Did I miss Steam banning them too or did the privacy etc changes affect this somehow.

On another note, could ASF set Steam settings on its own for bots? Like setting everything to public or private whichever way you want it.

Usual for this acc is 1 per week, sometimes 2, on currently 4,5k+ eligible games. So, last sale when I didn't get any, yeah, that was odd.
Also, during sale, some dormant accounts get back online (to buy some game on discount, farm free sale cards, whatever) and join back to eligibility pool (logged in within last 7 days), so that is one more reason for you to get less.

Well at least I got 2 this morning so didn't get boosterbanned, yet at least. :)

Looking at eligibility list, lots of crappy shovelwares have been removed from that list too so that explains it. Obviously since those sets are everywhere cheaply they get crafted the most and caused a major part of the booster drops. Sales before were like dozen or couple a day, quite easy to notice it going down to couple a week.

You can still receive booster packs for removed games, at least I get several not a long time ago. They're unmarketable, but can be opened and drop usual 3 cards from banned game.

None of my bots joined my group chat when opted in to the Beta participation on steam - Valve have launched a new style of chat.

When I opted out of beta and rolled back to old style chat not only did the primary/master bot join it, all the others did too. So I do have it working but this new chat looks like it may cause some issues down the line.

Unless it's just me who who has ASF configured wrong?

Yep, figured this out when I joined a group's chat that said 20+ online but I was the only one there. This is also a known issue and Archi will probably implement the support at some point. Or if not, it's really not needed for anything you can't do in other ways.

New beta chat support is planned, but for now you shouldn't expect it to work. It's big protocol change and it requires a lot of work. I have some experimental commits ready already, but they're nothing else than proof of concept for now.

ArchiBoT is my battlefield for now, and you can see the results. Once I decide that what I have in ArchiBoT is stable enough, then ASF will get that, not sooner.

A couple of problems... A minor issue involving updating. I am on version 2.3.2.0, and it can't update due to "no asset that relates to currently running binary!"
Second issue: Trades are not being accepted from approved account. It tries to accept the trade, but follows up with "GetConfirmations() id is null!" Not sure if this is problem with config on ASF or issue with SDA. :/ Any help is appreciated.
EDIT: For the time being, I reverted to an earlier version of SDA and I can at least confirm trades there.

First, no automatic update is possible from V2 to V3 because they don't share the same base (.NET Framework vs .NET Core), you need to update manually, and also catch up to almost 1 year of development to rebuild your configs since a lot of stuff has changed.

And as Archi noted above, no support is provided for outdated versions, you're pretty much forced to update sooner or later since they're on a timer, as soon as Valve officially switches to Websockets anything older than V3 will stop working, and nobody is gonna fix that.

The second issue is most likely related to the first, since Valve broke a lot of stuff recently (that's probably why they call them "breaking changes").

yeah have similar issu one of my bots jsut stopped idleing cards all configs are the same but that bot isnt ... according to the bot theres no cards to idle - that is strange cause i added the same game for all the other bots and the other ones are idleing it...

I had asf running and I had to restart it in order to work. That probably made it work or just steam servers were overloaded that time.

I mean there is that already (thing i linked) but I would more like and use it if it's created by you as I trust in your code (updates) over someone random on internet (as my code reading is not good) and plus it will probably be even better (using it on our bots/alts).

Yeah it works fine, but I disabled updates, as I said in prev comment don't really trust in codes I find on reddit by random guy, ver 1 looks fine. And it does have some problems, like you can't select planet/leave planet, and have to open multiple browsers to farm our alts, that's why I was hoping for similar program from archi or implementation in asf.

Steam's card drop policy depends on whether you have an account with or without restricted cards drops. If your account has restricted card drops it can take up to 3 hours of idle time before the first card will drop for a game and then can take anywhere between 30 minutes and 2 hours per card drop until all available drops happen for a particular game. So the first question you have to ask is did you do something to become a restricted account such as request a refund for a game you have bought. This is one know way but it's probably not the only one but those other reasons are a mystery to everyone.

If you have a restricted account you can then configure ASF to idle up time to multiple games at a time to get it to 3 hours before farming each game individually using "HoursUntilCardDrops": 3, bot config. The benefit of this is you get to share the 3 hour wait until cards drop instead of 3 hours for each individual game. Let's say for your example you had the 3 hour wait for 3 games, that would be 9 hours of your 15 hour idle time. If you set the HoursUntilCardDrops that 9 hours would reduce to 3 and you would have got the 8 cards in 9 instead of 15, still a lot but significantly shorter.

That was one way to explain the time for 8 card drops but it could also be that you were unlucky and had a game with 8 cards drops but 2 hours per card afterwords that would be 15 hours, these are rare but some games have been set up like this, just giving another example of how complicated card drops can be and that there has never been a time when cards dropped every 30 minutes for every game.

If I want to make use of AutoSteamSaleEvent, do I have to turn off ShutdownOnFarmingFinished? Because ASF just exits without checking queue first since there's nothing to farm.

The script stopped working for me after I restarted my computer, and now when I try to redownload, chrome blocks the zip file, saying there is a virus in it. Any help?

Click on the download link like always. Also disable any malware you might run that keeps deleting your wanted files.

I downloaded it again, copied the old config content in the new file and now attempting to open only gives me a small "animation" of it opening just to close in like half a second :/

Windows defender Security Centre->Virus and threat protection->Click virus and threat protection settings->Exclusions->Add asf folder to exclusions.

Go back click on threat history and restore the dll.

How does it work with addlicense? I have used it before with games that become free for a limited time, but for example "PRICE" on steam is free and with cards, but why isnt the bot playing that game?
