[Question] Possible region lock for The Long Dark?

Amazon has a sale going for The Long Dark. It's also on sale on Steam.

I bought a copy to give away, but Amazon is giving me two keys:

  1. Full Steam Version - North America
  2. Full Steam Version - Europe

I checked SteamDB but as far as I can tell, Amazon is crazy -- the game isn't locked to North America or Europe. I found this, which appears to be an RU/CIS version of the game... but I can't find anything specific to NA or EU.

So my question is: am I safe to make a non-region-locked giveaway on SG using either of the keys received from Amazon?

The Long Dark shouldn't be region locked but I can't explain why you got those 2 keys.

I see now that they did the same thing when I bought a copy to give away back in December... but I didn't even think to question it back then. I just made a region-locked GA.

No idea but that kind of region lock is something I'm sure everyone would support, getting 2 ROW keys just to make sure it works somewhere. :)

That's another question that I didn't even ask -- let's say I redeem the NA key. Does the EU key somehow get invalidated? If not, couldn't I theoretically give away both keys?

I wouldn't do that because I only paid for one, but it's just a weird situation.

Can't imagine that one key won't work anymore after the other was activated.

EDIT: Couldn't find anything about it as if you are the only one who is getting 2 keys.

It must be because Trump is angry at Amazon so they are helping you to avoid paying heavy tariffs if you travel between NA and EU. Now you can show that your game is made in that region both ways. :)

i would make those ga's, canis. as i may know amazon COM site, used from italy, is just the same of using it from usa. keys really seems to work pretty much worldwide.
