Just hide the game. The game still exists in your account, but it won't pollute your main library

You can always ask the GA creator to delete the GA, sometimes people can be reasonable.

While staff accepts deletion under any circumstances so long as both GA Creator and winner agree, it's customary to give the GA creator a multiple of the CV of the initial giveaway, to make up for the hassle you're asking them to take on. By doing that, you both get something out of the exchange, and noone has to feel especially put upon.

(Note, rerolling shouldn't be considered an option for older giveaways, even if staff permits it, due to the increased likelihood of getting invalid winners during rerolls. It's a lot of bother for everyone involved, whereas deleting and compensating (with bonus) the CV is a much more reliable and straightforward approach.)

The first giveaway I won was Drunk Wizards. It was a mass giveaway by the dev team. Before they came on SG and made the mass giveaway they revoked lots of people's keys so there was controversy over this. If I'm not mistaken the game couldn't be played because no one was playing it or they shutdown their server. Due to these things I really wish I could delete the game from my library but unfortunately I can't. I've even tried to contact the devs and ask them to let me delete it, but no response. The only thing you really can do is hide the game from your library like nhahtdh suggested above.

Hide it or use a category for the games and collapse the category.

If hiding the game in your library is not enough for you, the only 100% sure way to remove the game from your library while still being fully compliant with the site rules, is to have the original giveaway deleted (or rerolled), so that you won't be considered a winner anymore.

You can buy another copy of the game, contact the giveway creator (assuming they're still active here), give them that copy and ask them to reroll or delete the giveaway, essentially giving back your win. You might be prevented from entering further giveaways for the same game, but I doubt that would bother you.

Then again there is potential issue of game being turned into bundled or free in between. In which case CV is lost.

That would also be supporting a game that was so horrible that you couldn't play it with your money. Better to delete and pick something of equal CV that's actually good.than to reroll :)

The fact is that if you remove a game won from Steamgifts, then your SG account will show a non-activated win.

That's it.

Well, as others told you, the solution would be asking the ga creator to cancel the GA.... and about joining gibs, try to be sure that you will play the game, maybe try some demo on steam (yeah, they have plenty of them) or look some streaming of that game / video walkthrough! Hope you can fix it

If a person has a OCD disorder or whatever mentally about things like that, they arenΒ΄t suited for steamgifts

That is rubbish reasoning. SteamGifts should be open to anyone who wants to participate and is willing to follow the rules. P

When you've won a Steam game you later regret having, ...

  1. You can hide the game on your account. (Others have suggested this, and it is simple and easy to accomplish.)
  2. You can ask for the creator to delete the giveaway. (You never know if you never ask. The creator may be happy to help.)
  3. You can contact SG Support Staff via ticket and ask permission to remove the game from your library. There is no guarantee as to how we will respond, but we are reasonable people and will consider your request in light of the information given. This would solve the issue as far as SG is concerned, but you may run into trouble with SGTools, et al.
