I was curious if other people were as hesitant as I am to redeem random keys to their steam account.

I was going to have a gibs for this, but decided to just toss the key into the thread with everyone else. Who needs free points for their SG account anyways. ^-^

Not knowing is the fun part!
I keep a seperate account just for things like this.
No, I keep my account well curated.
Absolutely not! Have you seen the filth they allow on steam these days‽ My kids play on this account!
Let me see the [potato redacted].

what's the problem of acrtivating a key?? if its used it will said, if not +1 in your account.

If someone buys keys using a stolen CC, gives you the key, you redeem it, then the key gets revoked - You get in trouble.

No, not really. I have had plenty of keys revoked due to Alphas ending, nothing has happened with my account. It's more if someone buys you a Steam Gift with a stolen CC that you get in trouble.

If it turns out to be something you don't want you can always just remove it from your account.

I don't, I did as first and got many crap games and kept asking Steam to remove it from my account again but with 30k games ignored on Steam there is a huge chance I get a game I don't want so not even going to bother.

I guess you could remove games again if you don't want them but personally nah, I wouldn't just activate random keys.

I'll use random keys that my friends give me. I'll never use random keys else where though bcuz I'm not fast enough for that
I also used to unload all my free keys to 1 friend and they never questioned about activating it, just complained a little

I mostly choose the games, but occasionally I add a random key, mostly from those massive GA group things, first come first serve. More often than not, I do choose what to add and skip free games I do not like.

I do not want garbage in my Steam library. If I do not know what a key gives me, I do not activate it.

Well, worst-case scenario i farm it then remove from my account. (which I generally do, since I try to keep it below 200 games)

I'm intrigued... Why below 200?

No particular reason. I just check and remove trash games when I reach 200 games. Just like a reminder.

I happens rarely tho since I only remove games if they are free giveaways and i definitely won't play it etc.

I only activate stuff I actually want to play.

I must admit that I tend to activate everything that comes my way, worse case scenario I can just ignore it, it's not like they occupy physical space, they're just items on a list.

I love random keys even more than playing games, the excitement if its dupe or not, seeing something weird to just pop-up you now own, sweating if its a free-for-all grab to be the fastest, steam freezing up and waiting for it to run properly again. I try to play everything I grabbed over the years but I only have 32 bit win7 and many of the games doesnt run on old hardware

I used to do it, i ended up bunch of games that i will never even consider playing. But at that time i was playing what i call as "steam game" ; crafting badges, selling stuff, leveling up etc. Now i am more focused on playing actual games. :p

Epic key dump. Anyone get anything?

Nope. There's a pretty high chance that it will be something that I am not at all interested in and I am not someone who enjoys collecting games just to get the +1 to my game collection or to farm cards. I figure, better to leave mystery keys to people who do like to farm cards, etc.; that way, even if the game is bad at least they're getting some enjoyment out of it.
