Solution:
The first thing you need to do is to identify the pictures and to see that they can be put into groups:
bat, cat, hat, Matt, rat
bed, head, lead, red, sled, Ted, wed
chick, kick, stick
clock, dock, flock, lock, rock, sock
bug, drug, hug, jug, mug, plug, rug, shrug, slug, Ugg
From the title of the puzzle, you can guess that the groups should be taken in the order of the five vowel sounds: A, E, I, O, and U.
Within each group, connecting up the words in alphabetical order will trace up a letter of the alphabet. For example, tracing bat->cat->hat->Matt->rat gives you the letter V.
The letters you obtain are V, O, I, C, and E. Therefore, the answer is VOICE.

Every year I craft an Easter Egg puzzle hunt for my daughter to find a bunch of chocolate secreted about the house. I am currently busy writing the 2020 hunt (the Casebook of Sherlock Hares), but I have a bunch of historic puzzles that I could post, so I thought I would do so. I thought I would try something easier, or certainly less involved than the last one, and easier for non-native English speakers.
The third puzzle is here: - It's Too Hard - Easter Egg Puzzle 3 - The Enigma of the Five Vowels
This runs to Noon - GMT Time - on 8 April. The prize is Haimrik
