I believe it's more expensive in € because of VAT, not conversion rate.

Az ÁFA a lényeg, igazából. Szlovák vagy osztrák IP-vel is jóval olcsóbb. És amúgy némileg illegális mert áfacsalásnak minősül…

If it's a free VPN, mostly are dynamic IPs. So that wouldn't work, like all too well. :P Best is to have a friend abroad and have him/her set up a VPN tunneling for you only.

What's bad with Tor and detection is, the same list to obtain Tor proxies can be used by companies to easily filter out you're using Tor. :P

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

While TOR protects your real ip, it doesn't hide that you use TOR as its exit nodes are readily known. You shouldn't be surprised :) Use hola instead of TOR as its IPs are from real peops around the world and are not registered in proxy lists.

i did it once, and it was to prevent to get a censored german version (it was Enemy Front, i believe). if bundlestars has a problem with selling me the correct version, i will just ask a friend next time. i certainly will not accept censored games. i'd rather pass completely then.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm pretty sure they'd prefer to sell you the correct version, but laws force them to sell you a castrated version.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

that's actually not true. Bundlestars/Focus Media is not a german company. i am allowed to buy uncensored versions of the games that are banned here from other countries, as long as i am 18+. even the really bad stuff with swastikas. ^^ so when Bundlestars sells censored versions to me based on my IP address, that is either their own decision or the publisher's. but it is not enforced by law in any way.

Comment has been collapsed.

You don't understand how it works, sadly. And you are breaking German law by playing uncensored games in Germany -- that's just the fact of the matter because the art clause only includes TV/movies and not video games.

I suggest you read up on Strafgesetzbuch Section 86 and 86a, specifically:

§ 86a StGB Use of Symbols of Unconstitutional Organizations

(1) Whoever:

  1. domestically distributes or publicly uses, in a meeting or in writings (§ 11 subsection (3)) disseminated by him, symbols of one of the parties or organizations indicated in § 86 subsection (1), nos. 1, 2 and 4; or
  2. produces, stocks, imports or exports objects which depict or contain such symbols for distribution or use domestically or abroad, in the manner indicated in number 1,
shall be punished with imprisonment for not more than three years or a fine.

See that word import? LOL It doesn't matter if you drew it with your own hands or bought it from another planet, you're still subject to imprisonment/fine.

But...you can fool yourself however you want if that helps you sleep at night.

Edit: P.S. I'm not in agreement with the laws or anything. I think censorship is stupid. I'm just trying to let you know the actual facts. Even anti-Nazi activists have been arrested for using the symbols in protest.

sorry, but in fact you are the one who misunderstands the law. (2) says for distribution or use domestically or abroad, in the manner indicated in number 1. so i am not allowed to distribute media with such symbols (i do not intend to) or use them in the manner indicated in (1). so what does (1) say? domestically distributes or publicly uses, which again - i do not intend to distribute, nor do i intend to publicly use media with symbols of unconstitutional organizations. personal posession and use however is not forbidden.

Even anti-Nazi activists have been arrested for using the symbols in protest

sure they have. that's clearly public use.

I've bolded the pertinent parts for you. It says "produces, stocks, imports or exports objects which depict or contain such symbols for distribution or use domestically or abroad, in the manner indicated in number 1, shall be punished with imprisonment for not more than three years or a fine."

you still misunderstand it.

for distribution or use domestically or abroad, in the manner indicated in number 1

number 1 doesn't mention private use or posession. that is how to understand it. for use in the manner indicated in number 1. you seem to completely ignore this last part of the sentence. so let me try to make this even more clear:

for distribution or use domestically or abroad,

in the manner indicated in number 1*

*nothing about private use or posession here

it doesn't just say use domestically or abroad, it says use domestically or abroad in the manner indicated in number 1. you understand now?

it's well known by every german who took 5 minutes to google this, that this paragraph means exactly what i am trying to explain to you.

I've been using a german exchange for my btc needs. Ask that again on https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/ OR on http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/ .

As for the wallet client i keep hearing that electrum is very convenient and simple to use one. I doesn't require you to load the full transaction list. I'm sticking to bitcoin core but it takes ages initially to get the current list.
