Company says it judges developers' motives, intent to "incite and sow discord."
https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/09/what-make-a-troll-game-valve-tries-for-a-steam-wide-definition/

"This is similar to the justification Valve used in June to remove Active Shooter, an unreleased game that planned to let players take on the role of a school shooter or the SWAT team trying to stop him.

Valve's Doug Lombardi said at the time that Active Shooter was removed from Steam because it was "designed to do nothing but generate outrage and cause conflict through its existence."...

As the developer noted at the time, too, "there are games like Hatred, Postal, Carmageddon and etc., which are even [worse] compared to Active Shooter and literally focuses on mass shootings/killings of people."

I read todays announcement on steam about "troll" games
https://steamcommunity.com/games/593110/announcements/detail/1708442022337025126
and all I could say - this all bullshit, since valve allowed "devs" like this to publish their trash.

At the same time they removed some 18+ games. For example
A Kiss For The Petals - Maidens of Michael removed from steam and publisher decided to move to GoG xD

Well, as I understand it, the new stuff will let games like Maidens of Michael come back on Steam.

And apparently Ignore buttons on publisher pages aren't in yet. :/

They are there (in menu under the cogwheel)... but thing is - not every publisher has it's own page, so you can actually only ignore publishers that have one.

From the menu link, it looks like creators have ID numbers like everything else.
So we should be able to ignore any once someone figures out how to find creator IDs.

These don't seem to be assigned until a company creates their page though as people have tried using scripts/consoles to force the functionality and been unsuccessful.

thanks for steam blog link.

It's been a few months since we talked about how we want to approach shipping games with controversial content.

that's what i've read. that line is enough. "controversial" being the last straw :)

A step forward but is there really a light at the end of the trash tunnel? Probably not.

It is Troll 2, as Doshmaku said, since we are talking about troll games and all :P

I don't know. I still find the "troll" ban too open. Still, maybe a small step in the right direction.

I don't find it very difficult tbh. Just remove asset flips, stolen stuff and achievement spam games and you already removed 70% of this year releases.
If Valve started paying attention at reported games maybe...

agreed.

it'll only get better when Valve will give community the opportunity to be "Community".

like this Community of ours.

All these are still available? (likely under the AO setting now)

Yep, still available. I can access them and search for them without trouble. They only get marked out it you don't want to see sexual content.

Which makes me wonder what the point of the screen was.

As long as the tag the Bloody Boobs only as "sexual content" and not remove it i can live with it very well

What makes a troll game.
A game Valve actually takes the effort to get out of their lazy streak and manually do some action. Valve don't like that. Don't troll the lazy asses at Valve, developers!
