Worth it?
G2A one was pure gamble, right? This, at least, is a (tiny) reward for buying regular stuff from their store. But I'm out of money right now, so I'll pas.

more or less they are... free games like really big sky, pid ,avencast....are those i have seen in the comments so far
...maybe there are games that never have been freebies...but i guess they have one wallet and one AAA-key in the whole event ;-)

In that case at least you get a limited edition collector's item thanks to the game being kicked out off the steam store..
With cards, which will also be in limited supply for the same reason, so they might actually be worth something because there will be people wanting to craft the badge for steam XP.
Comment has been collapsed.
Forgot about that bit. So you'd need to luck out and find an idiot who wants the badge without owning the game. Which is far less likely.
Oh well, it's still a "removed from store" collectors item though!

I have a bunch of Steam keys about that game
Am I rich now

$1=/=€1=/=£1
They could have converted it a hell of a lot better
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, keep in mind that the $ prices probably don't include taxes, while the € and £ prices do. (European consumer protection law in action - consumer-marketed list prices must reflect the total amount of money paid for product or service, all additional costs included).
$8 + tax is probably a bit closer to fair conversion.
Edit: Either way, at the moment €1 = £0.71, and 8€ = 5.68£. So effectively England gets the shaft compared to mainland Europe.

U.S. is a rich country, well damn i should own every steam game since i am rich.
I hate it when people assume that the U.S. is just full of rich people who have it better then them like we are some how above poverty and poor
Not all of us can afford things like you seem to think, and we do pay more then a lot people,we get taxed several times and on pretty much everything.
Wheel tax for registering a car for example,a gift tax if you win a car or a big ticket item you or someone gives you a car you have to pay full retail tax.Toll for using the roads,
Gas prices are still high and meat is not cheap at about 5.00 a pound here and i am sure else where it is a lot more
All i am saying is quit acting like your the only one getting the shaft.do something about it,other then crying how someone else has it better then you.

Thank you for posting this. People who don't live here are often ignorant about such things. The cost of living in many areas is exorbitant and the wages may not keep up with that. Might we have it better than many places in the world? Yes, perhaps. But that doesn't mean that everyone has money to throw away like it is nothing. There are many many people who have to watch their spending very carefully.
Comment has been collapsed.
The higher prices are still not our fault that has to do with currency exchange if your buying from a U.S. publisher they still want there 59.99 with exchanged,i do not see how that is our fault.
And you can not compare prices like that,it just not a very good way to go about it.That would be like saying how lucky Brazil has it because compared to our prices games are dirt cheap so they must be cheap for them.
Are taxes just for income are about 30% of what we make so if you make say 30,000 take 30% off that and that is what you take home.
Let say you make minimum wage which very a bit my state, but hour state is 7.25 a game cost 59.99 you have to work a little over 8 hours 1 days work to buy said game.
7.25X40-30% for taxes=203 now subtract that game you just bought 143.00 now you still have to feed yourself and get to work for the week.
So let say you use a gallon a day round trip 2.89 a gallon that is 14 that is 129.00 dollars left ,now let say you spend 50 bucks a week on food that leaves 79.00 for the week
So far this week you have 79.00 left we will say you buy just the one game for the month so for the next 3 weeks your will make 139 a week by time you take out for food and gas and taxes that has to cover for rent and utilities and other expenses like insurance.
Poor people here can not afford to buy video games if they are poor.I should know when i was a kid i never knew when we would have power or if there would be any food to eat.Lastly you can make a lot money and still be broke because you waste it all,how much money you make is the only factor in what you can afford, how you handle your money also plays a role,I know people that have all kinds nice shit and have a debt of 1million+ because of the 500,000 house and nice car and nice boat.Your only as rich as the money you actually have not by the things you have.
Also you can not compare prices with currency conversion unless your making U.S. Dollar and being converted to Euro for gas other wise it is a bit unfair it better to compare it like i did .My point here is most of us pay a lot for a game despite what you think once you take out the cost of living
A I never meant the US should have higher prices than it does currently or doesn't get shafted
Yet you posted this
What is worse is that the US is a richer country (so are parts of Europe). They should be paying more than us even after tax!
Saying we should pay more is the same as saying have higher prices
Comment has been collapsed.
Well either way i am not mad or being real serious i was just trying to show that not everyone from the U.S. has it easy either. And actually before everything went to shit we would have paid more.
As not long ago if we converted U.S. to Euro we paid more, when my sister went over seas awhile back she made less because of the conversion from U.S. to Euro and paid 3 times as much for gas.Luckily she is in the Air Force so Uncle Sam kicked in extra to make up the difference.
Either way we both can agree we pay more then we feel we should but that just how life,it is not fair never will be,and life is to short to worry about who has it better then me but that just how i feel.
Comment has been collapsed.
Please, my country taxes are 64% of a normal wage, even though they are counted differently from yours. 30% would be a blessing.
Comment has been collapsed.
You are only seeing part of it though, and that is my whole issue with this to start with.
All you see is base taxes and what you pay and compared to what i might pay.I am self employed so i pay even more. This is my point everyone keeps trying to justify why they have it better on taxes and price alone.
I have to pay federal and state taxes on what i earn,i also have to buy my own insurance since it is now law to have it so that might as well be a tax but i will not call it that since it not.
There is also my gas,the company vehicle, insurance for that ..
This was what i was trying to point out from the start it more then just about the cost of the product and what tax you pay that determines what you can and can and can not afford.
You could be worth 10 million dollars because you have a bunch of priceless art,but if you have zero dollars to your name other then those painting your worth nothing. until you sell those paintings.
I will say it again,i know there is people who have it better then me and people who have it worse, that just how life is.
You have a right to be angry at prices,i also have the right to defend the fact not everyone in the U.S. can afford 59.99 games just because you say so.
Comment has been collapsed.
Just so you know, implying that most European countries don't have have millions of useless taxes is kinda ignorant too :P Nowadays, pretty much every country overtaxes everything it can, so that it is able to fix the budget deficit in some way.
Comment has been collapsed.
Just so you know i never implied they where not, they made that clear in there post.
I made it clear that my country is not rich like they imply,i never once in my post said how easy European's have it. My point is nowt everyone in the U.S. can afford higher prices like they think.
Just because i left out European's taxes does not imply i have ignorance in it,i was just trying to show that we also have bad taxes and poor living wages just like every other place. No Country/Region is above poverty and poor and all have rich and poor and middle class and so on.Is that good enough for you??Did i forget anyone?
You might want to learn how to apply the word ignorant the way it should be before you go using the word.

i did say they and i am sorry i meant to say like some imply, and not imply like you said it,i admit my typing skills sucks, you can shoot me now

You said it yourself - we do pay more than a lot people, which is not really true. You pay pretty much the same as other countries, if one would apply some proportions to the money you earn. The only thing that's kinda fucked up in your country (at least I see it so), is the medical care, where you pay shitload of money for some basic care and surgeries, where we get it for free, while our taxes are higher.
No reason to get all butthurt suddenly, just saying.
Comment has been collapsed.
I am not butt hurt but hey if that makes you feel better pat yourself on the back lol
It is more then just the medical, look the bottom line is i do not care about the prices of games,if they are more then i can or am willing to pay i just do not buy it,i do not sit back and piss and moan about someone in a cheaper region getting better deals then me or how Russians used there cheap prices to exploit the trading to make profits,Someone is always going to have it better then someone else, get over it that is how life works
How do you know how much we do and do not pay? do you some how know what i make and how my life is?Just because something may be cheaper does not mean it some how easier for people to get because it is cheaper then what you pay.
Yeah i know i am butt hurt because you some how know everything about me and my life lol
I shared how i feel and my opinion and that some how makes me ignorant and butt hurt,i suppose that also makes you a
bigot
a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices
all i did was share how i feel and yeah it does get old that everyone seems to think people in the U.S have it made with our cheap prices and high wages and it is not so.
I am not butt hurt or mad if you think so then i can not stop you,but the way you think someone is butt hurt if they share how they feel, damn the internet it just full of people who know it all
I also stated that every country/region has poor and rich and so on,but i will add to it,how about corruption should we add that, how about crime, and so on? let just draw a line and say we all get the shaft, now we all can be buddies and like minded
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah how expensive are games for you? i know they are cheap for US but i see the currency conversion so i can only imagine that they are not cheap for you.
I know someone from Brazil was in Traders Guild chat the other day and was complaining about prices of a xbox 360 controller because nobody local was selling it,so the only way to get it was to have it shipped in,and i think they said it would cost about 80 bucks U.S.
I was just curious how about how long you had to work and such to actually buy a game in your money?
Comment has been collapsed.
I believe it was me :p but I've just got my controller xD.
Tbh, I'd prefer paying US prices and live there than paying BR prices living here :p (mainly because our prices are getting higher, though some retards still think they are cheap, I believe it's because they only buy games when 90% off and after price drops like 2 years after release, this way they still cheap).
Let's say the minimum wage here would let me buy exactly 3X fallout 4 and then I would starve and be a homeless happy guy with 3X fallout 4 that I could not play since I'd have to pay around $1000 for a mid-end PC that could play it on min.
If it was not for trades that stopped after brazilian prices went up and then steam locking stores I would have like 10 games at all.
Comment has been collapsed.
^ This. Games may be cheap here (on Steam) but the effects of inflation over nearly everything sold here (especially electronics) and the laughable avg. income we get means most of us do not get to play all the games we want at the end of the day. Brazilian gamers usually save to get their favorite games but can't afford a rig to max the graphics of said game.
Comment has been collapsed.
Just to make it clear...games USED to be cheap here :p.
Now I can find AAA brand new releases in physical copies, cheaper than steam, like batman arkham knight.
Also forgot to mention Fallout 4 :)

Only if you consider games that were released 1-2 years ago.

Oh you missed the best one, Healthcare!
Even more specifically prescription drugs where we pay 40% more than the next highest country and 2x to 1000x more than many "developed world" countries.
Sure wish I could save hundreds to thousands on healthcare, and have to pay a bit more for a digital download.
Everyone should remember it's 1% of the occupants in this country with over 90%!!! of the money.

Well i was not complaining lol I was just saying how the prices where.
If i was to complain i would say these gas prices are high and i fucking hate it or something a long those lines.
Either way i was just trying to show America is not as great and rich as a lot people seem to think

And on topic:
Rather weak offer, but at least they aren't selling the raffle entries seperately.
I'm betting anyone who gets a big title will still get one they often have on sale/in bundles. (ie. mostly Warner stuff)
And they really don't have any good deals at the moment that I'd be interested in, so guess I won't be getting free bonus stuff.

I bought 2 bundles and a few games and got, like many others, Dino D-Day as the mystery gift
Comment has been collapsed.
really annoying.. i just spent 13$ on bundlestars yesterday :(
Comment has been collapsed.
I think this is a nice thing, even if i won't participate. The timing, right after the steam sale ... well, maybe they thought "Hey, maybe the gamers are all in giving-mood now!" ^^
But, as i do not see this as a gamble, but as a nice bonus, it's great!
If there would not have been the steam sale till yesterday, i would buy the LEGO Batman 3 bundle now. Would not without that bonusgame, as the 72% are not enough to lure me from behind the couch :D
So, to answer your question:
Worth it? I'd say: Yes! As you will get your 8€-game + some bonus cherry on top :)
But, steamsale => empty wallet.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's not necessarily desperation, it's quite possible they simply have some excess keys and they want to give it to buyers. don't forget, the "spend money to get gift" offers are aimed at rewarding the buyers, rarely to attract new people. (especially now, that you don't even know what the game is, while Indiegala definitely want to get new buyers with even saying the game's name)
Comment has been collapsed.
That doesn't account for the blow to your reputation, 90% of "Random/Mystery Key" offers are bullshit and moneygrabs, people already know that but a lot of them still buy them or it encourages them to buy things they were thinking of buying but weren't sure and such. You may get a few more dollars in the short term but when you give the customers Really big Sky or Gun Monkeys as their mystery gift they will know you aren't trustworthy. If they are doing that they're either stupid or need some money quick.
Comment has been collapsed.
Meh, if I somehow rack up $8 worth of stuff to buy, this will be just a bonus. This is nothing worth putting effort getting since we have no idea what the gift is and from the sounds of those who have gotten it so far, not even worth trying to cobble $8 together in the first place.
Comment has been collapsed.
Couldn't they do this shit when I bought the Middle Earth bundle for 20 euro two weeks ago? Ultra-cunts!!!
Comment has been collapsed.
I was picking up a few bundles anyway, not for the Mystery Gift which I'd never count on being something worth going out of your way for (like the "Random Steam Key" thing on G2A is 99% IndieGala-class-junk bundle games almost all of us already have keys for we can't even give away).
Didn't expect much, didn't get much: a 1996 game "Harvester." At least it has Card drops I can sell, if the game itself winds up sucking.

So I got this newsletter from Bundlestars telling me:
The link provided in this email is only taking me to the store front page where I can see no promo for this.
I'm wondering if it's worth it to give them some money. Has anybody spent more than $8 and is willing to share what he/she received?
