Valve ad in PC Gamer regarding new game (HL3 maybe?) - this time for real. Check it out.

Check out this "HL 3 Development" writing right next to the yellow card...

I think that Valve is going to release a new game soon. HL 3? Portal 3? L4D 3? New brand maybe? We have to wait. In the next PC gamer there'll be some info (PC Gamer confirmed it).

It's an ad in a magazine. When was the last time Valve trolled anyone in an ad in a magazine? Exactly. Something's up. We can't always assume everything is trolling when it comes to Valve. And this one looks really legit.

That's NOT an ad. Clearly you don't subscribe to PC Gamer. I have that issue (August 2013) and that's the very last page, which is always a satirical joke page created by someone on PCG staff. Valve had absolutely ZERO part in it.

This refers to the thing one of the dudes from the magazine said that they will announce HL 3. Still, the ad is not a joke and it was confirmed that in the next issue there'll be some info about Valve's new game. It's all legit.

I'm guessing:

  1. Continuity of the story which by the end of Episode 2, was heading for a really epic one, maybe even a final confrontation with G-Man?

  2. Most likely a rehaul, or even a new Source engine, which would mean a whole new generation of Source games, optimized for this current generation.

  3. Half Life has been a pioneer in terms of story telling in FPS, it hasn't let down players with the second game, so there's a lot at stake, as well as a big chance things will go spectacularly well.

  4. It's Valve we're talking about.
