It don't need to evolve in a moba way ^^
And yes it is longtime fun because you can play it for free and aren't without chances or something like that. you don't need card XYZ, that costs X$, or something like that. Yur start deck is good and you can mix a good deck with cards that you get for ingame gold drops.
And you can go really high up in the ranks as F2P player too and earn with it all that you "need" each season.

It give 2vs2 (random and premade), different other modi (as example you and your oppenents haven't a fix deck and must choose from offered cards and play then with that decks, it ends after 12 wins or 3 looses) and as far as i heared it they will bring 3vs3, but i didn't read the last 2 news batches, so i don't know all or how far they are in the progress.

It seems we know two different Minion Masters. The Minion Masters I know is not good. Yes, they give away in-game codes quite often, but it's simply because the devs suffer from a severe lack of imagination.
They have only two solutions for all their issues. Giveaways and more cards. The game has an awful disconnect issue since forever. Solution? We'll keep adding cards and give something away again. The game is unbalanced, you say? Okay, we'll address that by adding some more cards... and so on.
As to the cards they keep emitting like crazy, what are they good for? Look at the decks of the top-15 players, those are the cards that are worth something. All the rest (95 percent of all cards) are loser cards and as such worth nothing. You may use them, of course, but you'll lose, and even if you win, it's simply because your opponent is even a bigger loser than you are.
The in-game shop is nonsensical. There are a lot of items there which I've never seen being sold. As a result, I have a lot of rubies, gold and shards which I cannot spend
So, the purpose of the devs' generosity is to prevent players from running away. The strategy seems to be working, since people continue to waste their time on this game
