Wrongly accused someone and reported, what do?

Hey guys,

i wrongly accused someone for regifting Tryst Beta. I checked his profile and thought that he won one of those Tryst Beta keys from the giveaway a few days ago, but it was his giveaway page not his "won giveaways".

Now I'm really sorry and feel bad about it. Is there a way to remove this report? I couldn't find a "remove report" link on his profile page where i reported him.

(And yeah i know, next time don't be so fast to report someone and do more research. It's only because this Tryst Beta regifters got out of hand and it made me mad : ( )

Well cg will look in to in when he comes up to that report and will see if he is really regifting it or not. He isn't banning everyone that has been send a report for. XD And btw he could still have won the Tryst beta and revieved the key ( or whatever they recieved), but didn't confirm that he got it on steamgifts. That way it doesn't show on his profile that he won.

DOTA 2 and CS:GO are exceptions, explicitly mentioned in the FAQ.

Giving away other betas is a big no-no.

If it was Tryst Beta then you have nothing to be sorry about, since Betas are not allowed here (except the Dota 2) .. and he could win the Tryst Beta and just uncheck that he got it.

But apparently people are already gifting Tryst the full game. At least someone who was asked if its the beta or full game said, that he's giving away the full game : /

The one(s) giving away the full game aren't doing anything wrong.

If the one you reported didn't state that it was the full game then you can say you had a hunch about it. If he said that it is the full game, the mods will see it and nothing bad will happen to him. I doubt anyone would punish you for a false report.

Don't matter whether in this case the report is still valid as it was for a beta. I think this is a good suggestion for cg because real mistakes happen... and then you would like to edit or delete a report.
