the topic's back in action, so BUMP!
a lot has happened since then, during the summer sale we had a lot of new members joining, we're nearing 650 now and had 340 a day before the sale started. had 3 rounds of HUGE giveaways, the last of which is about to end in a couple hours, so it's not too late to join.
and of course the newsletter is still happening every monday with the usual things, PLUS a new section called screenshot of the week, where you can submit your own to appear in the next issue.

brainrack issue #11 is out now with the weekly giveaway and a lot of other stuff. we're back to a single game now that the summer sale's over and it's open to all, but more events and group-only stuff is coming soon.

thanks for the kind words. that's what's good about puzzle games, you can do a few then do other things and come back to the next one later. unless it's something you need to be 'in the zone' for and be familiar with complex mechanics, in which case a longer pause isn't ideal.
you gave me a good idea though, I'm gonna compile a list of short puzzlers that can be completed in a single sitting, an hour or two. not sure when, but it's on my list of lists to create now.

brainrack issue #12 is out now with the usual weekly giveaway, tons of info on puzzle games, a spotlight on a lesser-known one recommended by a fellow puzzle lover guest columnist, and we have a new section in both the newsletter and the forum, called community corner, where group members can submit their puzzle-related creations, custom levels, guides, artwork, whatever.
and I've opened a what are you currently playing? topic as well, so we can discuss non-puzzlers we're currently tackling.
hope you'll enjoy the new features, more to come soon.

i'd love to join. i spend way too much time working on nonograms on android with a game called "nonograms katana". they have color and b&w puzzles up to 80x80, literally thousands of them. you can make your own and upload/download them so you never run out of puzzles. i haven't even thought to look on steam for something like this but is there anything you'd recommend?

welcome! my problem with mobile nonograms is that anything beyond 15x15 is a pain to do and I don't really like to zoom in and out. gonna check out katana though, don't think I've tried that.
and as a matter of fact, I just created a list for nonograms about a week ago, there are a few really good ones on steam. can't link to any curator stuff here, but you can get to that section from the group's page, then click on lists.

i almost always do the 80x80 puzzles so i know exactly what you mean with the zooming. i just try to stay to a section and work my way around it, and you don't have to zoom out to check the numbers because you can lock them onto the sides, if that makes sense. as far as android goes, this katana game completely blew away any of the other nonogram games i tried. i think you might like it.
i'm following your curator page as well so i will definitely be checking that out.

brainrack issue #15 with a TRIPLE giveaway! 2 are here on steamgifts, one of which is group-only, and the third is on the group's steam forums. this is a link to the members-only area, so join the group first to access it, then make sure to read the simple rules and hope that we can get not even half of our members to check in for the event to succeed.

final bump for the group-only giveaway event. it's really unnecessary, as it failed big time, but if you still want to contribute, visit this thread on the forum until monday morning (us)/evening (eu) and see what happens.

Giveaways
We have giveaways every week via SteamGifts (some are open, some only for group members) and special giveaway events during major Steam sales, the group's birthday, or whenever we feel like it (e.g. 'Advent in Advance', an annual, month-long chain of daily giveaways in October). Details and links are in the current issue of the newsletter.
Thanks for your attention, hope to see you in the group soon, and tell your friends!
