Work is going to get a PC with a GeForce 780 (and other nice specs). I'd love to show off what it can do to the people (non-gamers) here. Would love to see it myself, since I never go high end. Problem is, I don't tend to buy AAA games (or anything that's over $5 these days), so I'm looking for some demo or F2P game that's really graphically impressive.

Can you suggest anything?

Wait for Crysis 3 sale on Origin, it often goes around 6$. I can't think of a free game worthy of Gtx780 in terms of graphics really.

Edit: ^ Yes, Bf4 beta should be good!

Planetside 2 should be a good showcase and is F2P iirc.

I'm going to buy a new graphics card soon just to have a flawless Battlefield 4 experience, so I would suggest downloading the beta!

Maybe you'd be better off investing into Win8.1 :P

To add a nice dollop of further confusion to your plate, Battlefield 4 will be the first (I think) game to take advantage of AMD's Mantle API. I'm really interested to see the benchmarks when they come out.

I heard about that. Unfortunately I don't know much about AMD cards. I suppose it's worth looking into.

Nope, just make gay jokes about it probably. Maybe a photo of the BF symbol mounting Bill Gates and the executives from EA?

Why spend a lot of money on a card that you will not use to its' fullest potential ?

It's being bought for CUDA programming, not gaming.

PLanetside 2 might be your best bet, Warframe is also heavy, sort of. This is for free to play games.

The Nvidia real time face demo is pretty cool, for non-gamers, too.

Just built a new rig with the 780, an Asus 144hz 24 inch monitor, an i7-4770k processor, and a Asus Z87-Pro mobo - Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, and some other AAA titles look really, really good on it.

EDIT: I know you said you weren't interested in AAA titles, but you really should see at least one running once.

It's not that I'm not interested in AAA titles, I just don't buy them. Some of them do appeal to me (Bioshock Infinite for example), but I don't play much and when I do it's typically not shooters.

Get the BF4 Beta, or the Unigine Benchmarks, or Planetside 2, Blacklight Retribution.

Those are the most graphic intensive F2P games i can think of right now.

You could see if any AAA games have demos, then you get the best of both worlds - a way of showing off your pc, and a version of the game designed to be showed off

Most games don't have demos these days, unfortunately.
