Valkyria chronicles
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Grisaia no Kajitsu
And
Hyperdimension Neptunia and another one
:)
Also if you count FF7 as anime
Maybe you can include that game too
Edit : Blazblue too

Neptunia anime is just above average nothing special, is good to watch it before playing games to know about Neptunia world and characters, it helps a lot, but games are really good and addictive, the first game totally deserves the 96% positive reviews, I don't have the second though.

As for vice versa, aka Animes based on Video Games:
Tsukihime, Gungrave, Fate/Stay night, Clannad, School Days, Princess Lover, Steins;Gate, Green Green, To Love Ru, Pokemon, Ys, Xenosaga and countless more, these are just a few from top of hy head :>

yes, but Higurashi was the first anime OP mentioned in his first sentence of his ffirst p[ost ;p So not really a point in answering him with something he's obviously already aware of ;p
I was listing just the ones that were not already mrentiuoned in the topic ;p

It was, but manga was based on Video Game. First Pokemon video games - Red and Blue - got released early in 1996, First 2 mangas got released 1.5 year later - summer of 1997, And later on Anime based on latter of thjese mangas got released in 1998. So it's anime based on manga that was based on videogame. VG was the first entry in the franchise ;)

well if we were talking about adaptations, you would still be right ;) as manga was only based on a game - it shared the world, some of characters and ofc all the pokemons, but had a different story, while anime shared a story with 2nd manga released Pokémon: The Electric Tale of Pikachu ;)

Tsukihime, FS/N, SG are based on Visual Novels, yes, but as OP gave an example of what he's looking for in form of Higurashi - which is anime based on Visual Novel, in these case we surely treat Visual Novels as Video Games ;p
And as for Gungrave - here you're wrong :> Gungrave is based on action-packed Third Person Shooter with action elements :> There's nothing VN-like in it at all :>

ok, thanks to know...
Gungrave is one of my "top 10" animes, tsukihime and Fate are of my favorites (saw them like 10 years ago) , and "Ys" series are of my favorites too (played years ago untill they came to steam and bought them).
i think you are one of the "old school" users with good taste, hope i'm not wrong. :)

if you really liked Tsukihime anime you really should consider playing a VN :> It's even better than this already awesome anime ;)
As for Gungrave - I liked it, but not loved it. I really enjoyed past storyline, whole thing about mafia etc, but never really got into the post-apo part of it. It's favoritue anime of my fiancee thou :>
And well, I consider myself an oldschool gamer - I started with ZX-Spectrum and am gaming ever since, but for the tastes - everyone have their own and I believe you cannot say which are good and which are wrong :>

I believe Steins;Gate has a lot of choice elements in it rather than straight up novel like Higurashi. I don't know for certain I haven't played it. However its an entirely different debate whether of not VN are "games" or not. As has been mentioned though, for the interests of this thread, VN's are being classed as games by me.

There a mobile game made by Bandai Namco based on Tokyo Ghoul but it's only in Japan AFAIK.
I want to play it so bad haha.
Peria Chronicles will be AnimeMMO I suppose.

I played it. The story was meh but the combat resembled a sort-of Deadpool and Batman Arkham style (IMO) and was fun. I really did enjoy the art style of the game, though. I would only get it if you're a fan of the show. Otherwise, there isn't THAT much appeal.

i think Higurashi sucks *just my opinion.
well there's Devil may cry... the anime came after the success of the games...
Street fighter
And there's a dlc of kurisu (stains gate) on "Phantom Breaker"
aaand i think that's it... (for the games i own), there's also a loooooot of anime based games for game boy, and all sony's consoles.

I loved the Street Fighter movies, even the live action with Kylie Minogue and Jean Claude Van-Damme(its hilarious!)
Shame about Higurashi, I think you have to stick with it, its a slow burner and can be confusing. The characters are so loveable though!

You know, if Redline were a racing game, I'd totally play it.

I've just recently finished Higurashi and watched the anime, I absolutely loved it as you can see from my steam profile. <3 Rena.
So my question is, are there any games which got an anime or animes that got a game on Steam that I should know about. Before anyone suggests I'm totally not interested in Dragonball or Naruto, anything else is fair game for suggestion. Also, does anyone know if Steins;Gate is going to come to steam, is there anything in the pipeline for it? Thanks in advance!
