Yes you can. I once waited a couple of weeks cause the winner was on holiday and could not redeem the key.

^^^^ thought they were on holiday, turns out hospital.

You can totally wait even 1 year, nobody forces you.

It's up to you if you ask for a re-roll or not.
Although that ga slot is still waiting with ga inside :)

I've waited a month before. Mainly because I didn't feel comfortable having to contact them, but yeah wait as long as you want. Its nice that you are willing to wait because its their 1st win and clearly they just haven't been on, rather than just being ignorant

oh, I see, I'm just surprised that they didn't claim it via mobile because the mobile/browser claim is quite popular these days :D

It was so long ago when I used to do public gas that were like barely any level. So I cant be positive either 2 looked at the key once. Hell one of them told me they didn't look because I didn't send the key 2 minutes after the ga ended. So that deserved me waiting a month because how dare I not be there straight after it ended. The other was nicer and sorted things out as soon as I brought it to their attention

In September 2019, I was very lucky to win "Wasteland 3" in a GA. Thing is, the key was not even available at the time (as the gifter clearly stated from the start).
So the GA stayed there for nearly a year, neither marked as Received nor Not Received. Finally keys came out in August 2020, and the gifter sent me one.
So, in my experience, the GA can stay in the Schrodinger's box for 1 year for sure -- probably forever. :D
Cheers!

Like above.
Giveaway can stay in this state basically forever. It has it's drawbacks though as creator won't get their CV "fast". And winner can't enter in more GAs for the same game in case key wouldn't work for some reason. What should not happen is winner marking GA as received and then waiting for key. This can lead to suspension as they confirmed they received the game.
Feedback locks after 30 days of winner marking GA as received / not received. But since they don't perform any action clock of doom doesn't start to tick.
I will also move this topic to "Help" as it may be useful for other people to find this answer.

o,0 Ultra moderator :O
ohh I didn't knew it locks after 30 days once we take an action :P
How do I move this to "help" ?
Sorry I have not done a lot of giveaways so I'm fairly new to posting as well and I'm only familiar with the basics like casual stuff

Don't apologize, there are many quirks on SG you learn along the way when you make / win GAs. I just saw your post and thought I will write quick reply.
Super and Ultra moderators can do basically the same stuff.
You can click on the green "Open" in top right part of the discussion => Edit => pick another category in the menu. I already did it for this topic.
The same way you can edit your discussion. One of the SG quirks :P Edit menu is "hidden" behind button, which indicate if thread is open or closed.

Yes, I suppose I have a lot to learn on SG.
I've not seen too many super/ultra moderators around, not that I'm very active on discussions anyway so it was surprising for me to see a role like that.
Ohh, thank you I'll remember it, and thanks for explaining it to me :D
I see, I understand now how it works thanks to you :P

it's been 2 weeks - maybe think about asking for a new winner?

oh crap! wiggle nose spying on me :P
yes it's been 2 weeks and I was kinda positive that the user would be getting their key, I'm gonna give them a few more days/weeks before asking for a new winner especially because it's allowed and other things we discussed, At-least the key wouldn't go to a bot account that way, besides it's not their fault to try a website and forget about it, Once they come online they'd know that they have won and they would be getting the key/game and hopefully be more responsible next time :D
what do you think?

So you might know me from my old post where I talked about a winner being late for giveaway etc.........
it's been 9-ish days or so and this is a real profile and real person and this is not a bot...... it's their first win and I don't wanna rip it off of from their luck. Can I give them another week? BTW I tried contacting them but they're seemingly offline yet there's a very high chance that they'd log on within next week ...... so who decides "when" I should reroll and how "long" I can wait when the default 7 days are over?
