there are pc versions on the first 3 RE games but to put them on steam they would have to update them for modern systems. i think all they would need is to fix the speed/possesor issue.

I don't think many people would actually want to play the original RE1. It was inferior in every way to the remake.

The original was a bit more campy and B-movie'esk, some people liked that about it compared to the remake.

A lot, lot more campy, more like. That translation and voice acting is legendary. =D
I like the old RE1 well enough, but unlike RE2 which is still a good game today in its original version, RE1 feels just too old.

The remake is kind of praised for keeping all the good stuff, and the second one is being made by the same team, so hype is on =)
But with all seriousness i have a warm special place in my heart for all classic games, but i just wont play them anymore, cause it will ruin the memories =)

Seriously though monolith, Imma let you make the shadow of mordor sequel, but then can you at least make a 'spiritual' successor to these games... I would literally break my 'no pre-orders' rule for this. (and probably regret it, but oh well)

I just want to get rid of Origin. Pain in my butt.
I need all the Dragon age and Mass effect games on Steam.
EA also did a Alice in Wonderland themed game that used to be on Steam, but now you can only get it on Origin.

Funny how many are labeling Steam as a monopoly. They got a decent digital distribution platform going ahead of others and are reaping the benefits. Nothing is stopping others from doing the same as Steam and there's several alternatives only less attractive due to being late to the party.

That would only be true if Steam-exclusive games weren't still a thing, from indies to AAA games, and there wouldn't be so damn many of them. Entire large publishers release on nothing but Steam alone.

I can not follow your reasoning. Are you trying to say that Steam is a monopoly because people choose to release exclusively on Steam? If that's the case I struggle to think of any digital game distribution platform that's not a monopoly in your mind.

Yes. Steam's monopoly is a weird circular logic: it is big because many games are released exclusively there, and many games are released there only because it is the biggest. Origin, GOG, and even to a degree UPlay helps a little with this, but those are just first steps. Humble's Steam + DRM free policy they seem to prefer whenever publishers are okay with it is another step. But we are still too far ahead of breaking Steam's massive, lumbering presence. And I am not completely sure Twitch Games will be a step in the right direction.

This. I never got hold of the DLC's for NWN 2. I know the complete edition is on GOG these days, but i am not buying a 10 year old game where i only miss the DLC for 20 €.
Also would be nice if Rockstar finally made a PC port Red Dead Redemption but that will never happen. :(

Owned by Nintendo, so it'll never happen. But, if you own the disc + a Nintendo Wii, you could rip it and play on PC via emulator (and use the "Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library" to run it through Steam).
