Since someone hijacked my ongoing topic a couple of months ago, I couldn't start the early 2020 edition.

So with that out of the way, and it's now 1/2 way into 2020, lets keep the tradition going.

What are you currently playing, mid 200 edition.

Me-
Borderlands 3
Kingdoms of Amalur (felt like it with the remaster announced)
Atari Vault*
Conan Exiles
About to start The Messenger

Phantasy Star Online 2 (Thanks to Thiefstealsalot for the reminder)

STILL Final Fantasy Brave Exvius
Diamond Diaries Saga (android)

And now for the mandatory GA through a small jigidi.

With friends I've been playing BL3, Halo and Deep Rock Galactic.
Been playing Shadow Warrior, but rage quit after dying stupidly after a long fight haha. I'll be back to it now that I'm over that :p

Have a few games I want to try 100% so might go to them after Shadow Warrior. All my plans constantly change though :)

When I wanted all the AC games, I've bought a couple retail and activated it on uplay because it was so much cheaper compared to the store

Haha. I just finished the story on the second difficulty today. I am now ready for the next DLC.

What class did you choose? I'm using Moze (gunner) and am in love with COV assault rifles and the Yellowcake (COV limited launcher).

I am using Zane.
I like this kind of game I can explore and collect many small pieces of hidden(?) items.
I love to use sniper rifles plus any thing that can shoot rapidly, so not a big fan of COV or Maliwan.

Oh, I HATE Maliwan weapons in BL3. Well, with the exception of the Krakatoa. Those can be fun if you kill with it.

If you do a second playthrough on True mode, make sure you use Mayhem mode. I use it and it gets pretty interesting at times.

A couple of months ago i finally decided to start Skyrim so i added the mods i wanted and played a couple of hours but i didn't like it so much. Should i give this a second chance?

i have all these newish games installed, and yet this week i started a new character in Borderlands TPS (the doppelganger) instead. so far i'm enjoying it strictly because as soon as i get swarmed i can summon two Jacks and have them clear out the enemies for me while i crouch behind something for my shield to regen.

but seriously, so many games installed. i should.... play some of those....... really i should.

Borderlands TPS was a game I (surprisingly, sadly) couldn't really get into. It was okay, but nowhere near as fun, interesting, or addictive as co-op Borderlands and Borderlands 2 was.

But I feel like I and my Borderlands co-op partner should play through TPS before we even entertain buying Borderlands 3 (not that I'd do that until the GotY edition came out and went on super sale anyway, but I seem to have more patience than my partner).

i don't know, it's all backstory for a guy we all killed in BL2, so you might be able to just bypass it in the end unless you're a completionist. the gameplay is carbon copy to BL2 so you're not missing out on any fresh dynamics or combat tricks.

I couldn't get into the first Borderlands at all cos it actively annoyed me, but i super mega enjoyed BL2. TPS is my fave by far however, and like you am relatively unenthused about playing BL3 until the GOTY edition arrives. i'm also a solo player, so it's about story engagement for me over group shenanigans. TPS has a lot of space to just dither at your own pace if that's what you want. the other games are much more fast paced story-wise i think.

Well, I'm like you in that sense - it's about story engagement over other stuff. The gameplay is certainly similar for BL2, though it seemed less engaging (the outdoor, moon-like areas were more annoying than anything). I felt BL2 had a great mix of story and humour (Tiny Tina is my favorite character by far), and with TPS I found myself struggling to care - I liked Athena as a character, but the story just didn't engage with me, and the locations felt more tedious than anything.

Why is TPS your favorite by far?

huh, that's interesting. i found the gameplay to be so similar between the two that environmental engagement was on the same level for me. no idea why it would be such a vast difference, unless it all comes down to personal preference?

it's my fave cos there's more Jack in TPS, basically. in BL2 i was having fun being taunted by him, had emotional whiplash where i wanted to go and kill him RIGHT THEN (particularly after what he does to Bloodwing) then got back to enjoying the taunting, but with TPS it's just persistently fun dialogue without the endgame of wanting to take a machete to the asshole's neck. without Jack as a villain in BL2 i probably wouldn't have cared as much to finish the game, and i absolutely wouldn't care about TPS outside of CL4P-TR4P's persistent existential crises.

edit: how far did you get into TPS btw? cos i'm at the Drakensburg right now and found myself saying "oh god this again" so i guess what i can see what you mean about tediousness about certain areas.

I did just finish the LEGO Hobbit. Had to have a game to play I could easily pause since I was stuck doing phone support from home instead of being able to go into work for real. LOL

Now I'm mostly playing GTA 5 with a few matches of Overwatch mixed in. I want to get back to Dragon's Dogma which I started before GTA was given out for free, but just keep starting GTA instead :) It just looks so much nicer on my PC than it did on my PS3.

Let's just say I haven't enjoyed it since KOTET and love the revamped gearing system in Onslaught. It's totally worth grinding dailies now!

Divinity Original Sin 2. It took a little getting used to, but now that I am I can say that it is great, and it's going to keep me busy for a very long time.

I started a co-op game, and it was kind of a mess as we didn't know what we were doing. So I started a singleplayer game and it was fantastic. Then I started another co-op game with different people, and it's also great and surprisingly different from my singleplayer game.

Subnautica.
Playing without any guides and reached the phase where I explored the Lost River, improving my stuff with Nickel and Crystalline Sulfur. Still didn't figure out what do with the alien bases.

Stellaris
Didn't play it for ages and had figure out all the changes since MegaCorp. Wars went great so far and I figured out now that I must give my slaves more rights, so that they can get jobs as specialists. I wondered why all these building had no effect. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Chrono Trigger and ETS2 are the other games that keep me busy currently.
Next on the playlist: Iron Danger, Dark Souls 2, Dragon Age Inquisition.
