Didn't know about this movie. Thanks, I like the genre.
Just watched its trailer and reminds me a lot about The Experiment. They also made a remake in 2010. Not as good but still enjoyable.

The Experiment was based on the Stanford Prison Experiment which is why one reminds you of the other.

Ugh. I just typed a nice response but the submit form ate my answer!
TLDR version:
Thank you for introducing the film, I want to watch it now as it looks very interesting. I've heard of the experiment before. You might also be interested in this documentary. Important lessons about empathy for others when there are differences between people that create power dynamics, which is very relevant today.
You might also enjoy the anxiety-filled Whiplash. Currently streaming on Netflix in Japan, maybe available for you too. It's not a clear-cut film, but the pacing is excellent and the ambiguity of "good" and "bad" makes for a thrilling and thought-provoking viewing.

I have seen The Lunchbox just today and it was amazing. No anxiety to experience there, but some very slow and very deep character development and story telling. Some in the family did mind the ending, I didn't. Adorable movie, 9/10.

I remember learning about that way back in high school, I think we watched this (think this is a reupload we watched it in like 2010?)
Looks cool might check it out.

Is it better than Das Experiment?
I would say that movie was 50% Hollywoodesque drama...its not even american, but thats how it felt

I wouldn't recommend, despite the popularity
Its an overly dramatic approach
I would watch this one but i feel it may not go for actual facts, that was a problem for Das experiment

I remember watching in class (oh, years ago, feeling old yet?) the videos of the real experiment and the real participants talking AFTER they needed to shut down. Once you watch that, you don't care about films and this kind of exagerated stuff. Real version is enough.
There is also videos about the real Milgram's experiments and I saw a video of the teacher and his students (once they were adult) who where separated by the colour of the eyes (blue and brown) and the blue eye ones were the "good students".

I've seen both and in all honesty, the exaggeration comes mostly from the music and camera angles. They use the same dialogue and it's surprisingly similar to the actual experiment.
Just watched the blue/brown experiment too. The only positive thing about it was that at least their roles were changed and it actually helped people to understand what was going on (the teacher/student one).

Two movies:
Don't read what they're about. Just watch.
Added The Stanford Prison Experiment to my watchlist...

Ah yeah I saw this a while back. Great choice. Human nature at its finest.
The last film I saw that I could say really "affected" me in a big way was The Green Inferno.
Not exactly a great film, but the subject matter was definitely different. Not a film for those with weak stomachs.

Looks like a version of Cannibal Holocaust. :D
I might check it out actually. Added to my watchlist.

I've seen the 2001 original german version and I agree it's a highly disturbing movie.

Been bing watching The Walking Dead for the first time from the start over the last while and this has been bringing up a lot of anxious, depressive, what ifs. Loving it but have to take a break every now and then to come back to reality. Loving the slow changes that take place over numerous seasons in each character. Kinda like The Bold And The Beautiful with zombies, adult themes and good actors.
Nearly finished S5 so no spoilers please.

So I watched The Stanford Prison Experiment today and it made me feel some amazing things.
I'm guessing you all know what it's about and it might be playing a role in why I felt these things.
It's been a long time when I've felt anxious, while watching a movie. It's been a very long time since I've hated or rooted for people so much as I did today. It's been a very long time since I knew, that I'd be taking this movie to my dreams tonight.
This is also a really good showcase of young talent.
As a person who's been watching TV and movies as background entertainment, while I'm grinding for some achievement, it has been a breath of fresh air in this dim, fart-filled room.
Have you had a movie experience like that? If so, when and with what movie?
No giveaway, sadly. I've been spending too much on giveaways recently and I just can't afford making them for a while now.
