I would like to see people who don't have many games, for whatever reason, get something new to play and enjoy themselves.

If you want games, and your library is ≤ 30 games large, post which ones you'd like.
If you have certain games people would like, contact them like the nice person that you are.
Or just post the games you'd like to see get a loved home, and not become dust in a library between
hundreds of others.

Do not post the keys in this thread, and be mindful of alternative accounts.

I've not fully thought this through, so guidelines might change in the future.

Even if keys don't get exchanged here?

Why not? Exploitative users'll be rushing to bring in their alt accounts for requesting free games.
I mean, in addition to just getting even more games to waste on card-farming, they can either flip a high value game and lose the account (no real loss), or get a game they legitimately want to play on their main account (making the ≤ 30 requirement meaningless to such individuals). There's no risk to them for participating in something like this (and if they've got alt accounts on SG in the first place, then clearly they're fine with breaking rules for personal gain).

As Mully said, checking achievements to try and determine actual play is a good way of determining if an account is legitimate. You can fake achievements, but presumably the added effort will at least dissuade some users.

Be mindful of alternate accounts with few games. Good karma thread though.

Good thinking, I'll include it in the description.

Groups like Unlucky7 already exist for situations like this. No need for a thread as its more likely to be open to people abusing this.

Ok, thank you for bringing that group up. Feel free to vote on the poll, if it turns out people want this thread closed I will close it.

I am sure most people will appreciate the sentiment of what you're trying to do. Best of luck to you either way!

Stevey posted exactly what I wanted to post after reading your OP.
They do accept "guest gifters" in that group, and they do all the checking and monitoring for you.

Seconding this. I once ran a group much like this myself; it was plenty of work curating members and even then I got a few scammers (especially with more expensive stuff). I can't recommend anyone striking out on their own for this, unless you like the heartache of seeing something really good go to someone who'll instantly turn around and trade it for... whatever, I suppose (and then will give you lots of grief when confronted with this).

also check their <30 games are played instead of idled, you don't want them to do the same with your gift.
