No in the general sense and possibly in the individual sense. The manner in which we judge the qualities of others are subjective, since we each have our order of importance when it comes to certain traits. There is no general consensus on what makes a good person, since we all think of different people. We can all agree that person X is a good person, but you would be hard pressed to detail why the person is and if the removal of a certain set of traits would make him/her any lesser of a good person.
When it comes to humans, there is no black and white. Just a shit ton of grey that is in constant negotiation; whether it be with each others, ourselves or our past.
Then again, I'm one of the plebs who loves his +1s so I might be a bit biased here :P.

When you're trying to sincerely engage people on a topic you have to at least try to be objective.
So if you say you are genuinely interested in people's motivation for and utility derived from a particular activity, then your thread title should not call the activity "stupid" or "mindless" "shit" and should not ask if it makes the participant "lesser".
You've already decided whether the activity has any value and implied that the people whom engage in it are inferior. If that was your intention, okay. If not... try again.

Wanting to collect games isn't bad, especially since it isn't hurting anyone else.
I definitely regret doing it though. I have to delete a lot of games in my library since they are just crowding it and most of the games are broken.
