MF DOOM has passed away

i yelled that exact sentence when i saw the news on twitter a few minutes ago. seriously, what the everloving fuck is this shit.

damn.. he's been dead for two months now and they're just now letting us know.

I totally get not wanting to announce it immediately at the time but picking today of all days to actually announce it stinks of desperate cash grab and attention seeking.

At first I had the idea he was joking and talking about the game :P

Because they decided to have time to handle all the emotions and bad things like crematory stuff or simmilar things ?
Because they decided that it isn't important that some random internet strangers know all private stuff directly ?

MF Doom was an incredibly private person, and hid much of his personal life/family matters from the public. I'd be very surprised if he wanted, or would have wanted, anything less..

This is quite a common thing. It's much more important that the person's close family and friends have private time to grieve, deal with and go through the process, than announcing it to the world. If I were a celebrity I'd probably leave it up to my family to announce it whenever they're ready. ...Why wouldn't you? The media's intense focus must be an awful thing when you just want to be left alone and grieve. Especially for people who've never really been in the spotlight. Their worlds are already spinning enough.
