You can get shareware/demo Doom directly from id software's website, or you can get FLOSS FreeDoom instead (+play most doom mods with it). Other than that you need to pay for Doom, e.g. on Steam.

Please not that abandonware is technically speaking piracy, so keep that in mind when posting links. There are places where you can legally get old games though. GOG is a famous place, though you need to pay for most games. RGB Classics only has legal (free) downloads as well.
And how do you know that your cousin did not get any malware through that site? Such things are usually not apparently obvious.

He didn't get delta search and when he checked for his programs he didn't have the malware that I got when I downloaded it, same site though.
