And Fistful of Frags
These two are real free games, not f2p.
The games with the best f2p-model are the ones from valve(tf2, dota2).

Don't forget about Path of Exile which is made by Grinding Gear Games.

Also TF2's f2p model is not really the best. People that don't spend money to buy premium can't even trade with other people. Also those that buy premium get items of higher rarity/quality with better stats.

Actually no. The only thing you need to become premium is to buy something from the Store. With something I mean anything, even a weapon for 0.35€. Who buys premium DOES NOT get items with better stats. You might drop more hats than non-premium, but if you die a lot, it's your fault. And by the way, every weapon has its pro and its cons, making them all at the same level, they are not direct upgrades. Lots of people use the stock weapons, in fact.

Check TF2 FAQ about free and premium differences. http://www.teamfortress.com/freetoplay/faq.php

"Premium accounts have a few extra features, including access to rare and cosmetic items through random item drops, the ability to store more items in your backpack, and more powerful trading and crafting abilities. Otherwise, the gameplay experience will be identical for both accounts."

Free account can only receive standard items from drops while premium can get standard, rare and cosmetic.

Rare items have additional stats compared to the standard items. Those stats of course aren't so big to make a big difference so they don't give a huge advantage to premium players, but still...

Where does it talk about stats?

It doesn't, but I had a friend show me some of his rare items and they all had extra stats.

I've played nearly 1500 hours of TF2, never seen 'extra stats'.

If you mean hats with stats attached to them, those just count score/kills

Rare items don't have additional stats compared to standard items.

You said it yourself.

This is straight up bullshit, tf2 items are purely cosmetic! You can get ALL the weapons available in-game as a F2P in timed drops. There might be weapons with kill counters or different appereance, but the stats are the same. Don't make up shit just to prove your point.

it's fun for a while, but it's just a grind for the sake of more grinding. i didn't like the direction they took.

but i did spend a butt ton of hours on it when i didn't have any other games, so there's that.

My friend spends all of his time-not-spend-playing-with-friends in Tactical Intervention.

AFAIK you can buy all stuff in it just for playing game. The new stuff has some time when they are for $$$, but after few weeks you can get them for in-game credits.

Fistful of Frags - if you are into little more hardcore shooters (similar to CS) and its basically a halflife mod.
Loadout - it has arguably even more fair f2p model than Team Fortress.

Tribes: Ascend

really good skill based old school shooter, if you lived trough quake or unreal tournament you gona love this one.

Also has a very fair model, you can buy every gun in the game with with XP you get by playing, the only thing out are cosmetic changes and the base gear is really good too.

"Of all time" is pretty silly. Esp F2P MMORPGs tend to have a high influx on release and then starve.
