Favorite short games?

here are some i liked that i remembered. i can think of many more though :)
All these are finished in 1 to 4 hours. i found most of them on youtube or steam store.
Paid games:
Beginner's Guide, Industria, Metal Garden, It Takes a War, Far Lone Sails, Journey, Scanner Sombre
Free games:
BirdGut, Sheepy, Outcore, DDLC, Awaria, Helltaker, Clean Break, ENA Dream BBQ, Poco

Nuclear Blaze was fun. Loved the feel of it, and great accessibility options.

I can't really make any recommendations, I think most of the games I enjoy playing are jrpgs, farming sims and the like. most of my lower hour games I finished were around the 8-12hour range. Games like the Deponia Series, Tinykin, Telltale games etc. I did enjoy Helltaker like Zepy up above though. Bump

Firewatch!!! Plays like a 4 hour movie, one of the first games I got on steam. Love it!!

Some of my favorite games are short games. Some really good ones have already been mentioned, and others I didn't know about and will look for, so thank you for this thread!

Some that I recommend:

• What Remains of Edith Finch (already mentioned here, but I want to emphasize it because it's amazing!)
• Gorogoa (a beautiful puzzle game)
• Paratopic (a surrealist horror game, but light on the horror element)
• The Red Strings Club (pixel art sci-fi narrative with an interesting story and characters)
• Untitled Goose Game (fun game about being a goose!)
• South of the Circle (narrative game with fantastic acting and a good story)

Free games:

Perfect Vermin!!!

My way to find games is to check every new Steam release on steamdb and ignore or wishlist them :D Usually, during my morning coffee. But I do not recommend this, it is very time-consuming to get yourself up to date, when you only need to check the daily releases. It is only like 10 min for me now.
I have a new method to choose my next game. I choose games randomly from my library. I don't think about it too much. I just started one. If I like it, I play it through, or at least for a while, then I start the next. The only rule is that I have to have no or very little knowledge about that game, so no popular titles. It is fun, and I found some really sleeper hit titles this way.

Here are some story based cute puzzle games, cozy games or just some wierd ones that worth the time:

Conga Master - It is Snake, with aliens. Very fun
The Corridor - short experimental game
The curse of the monkey island - my fav pnc
Dude, Stop! - experimental puzzle game. Funny as hell
Ealú - stop-motion puzzle game with a mechanical mouse
Dream bbq - some weird shit, and it is free. I can't really explain this game
Fort Meow - sadly short pillow fort builder
Garden life - it is somewhat longer, but super cozy and easy to pick up later
Grim Fandango - my second fav pnc
Jerma & Otto: The Curse of the Late Streamer - funny short pnc
Leila - it is for girls
Lilith Wants to Buy Your Soul - it is a free, short experimental game
Little Inferno - super cozy and weird. Don't burn the free hug coupon!
Manual Samual - Short, very funny physics-based puzzle game
The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo - more like a surreal experience than a game
Paper Trail - cozy puzzle game with interesting, but underused mechanics
Please, Touch The Artwork 2 - free, surreal, cozy
Press X to Not Die - short funny QTE FMV with some terrible acting :D
Reviver - cozy narrative puzzle game
Samorost - free, short, surreal and cozy
She Remembered Caterpillars - very cute puzzle game until you start reading
Puzzle Agent 1-2 - Twin Peaks-inspired, funny and weird puzzle game

Generally, I love short games because I can finish them quickly and move on to the next thing!

I like short stories; therefore, I like short games with a good story.
My favorite would be Trauma I love everything about it. And for Co-Op it has to be The Yawhg

Free on itch.io and the official website, paid on steam if you want to support the dev: The Dark Queen of Mortholme. You can get all endings in ~half an hour, but it's a great experience.
