Hi.
Lately I see a LOT of entires on almost every game. If my memory is working right there wasn't so many entries few weeks ago.
Has something changed? Should I change something? Does this site have so many new users lately? What's the deal with this?
Odds of winning are extremely low now ;/
Just curious.
Have a nice day.

Bots have found a new way to get around the system or there has been a lot of new releases so high traffic to the site.

Has something changed?

Yes.

Should I change something?

Probably not.

Does this site have so many new users lately?

No. In fact, the opposite is true; the rate of new users shows a downward trend.

whenever there is a major bundle, the site is flooded with giveaways, and as people only have so many points, the number of entries per giveaway drop. When there hasn't been a decent bundle in a while, there aren't as many giveaways, and so there are a lot more entries into each giveaway

the human filter process is being breached, cats all over the world are joinning giveaways to resell the games for money that they will later use to kill us all
support tickets about this topic will get an automated reply with this video, obviously the cat empire as taken over steamgifts already, be aware!

Depends on what games are you entering for. In my case the average amount of entries on giveaways I'm interested in dropped significantly ;)

Most games I have wishlisted and entering for are 2000-4000 entries.

I have like 6500 games on my "blocked" list, so I have to give a "small sample size" warning --

but I've noticed that there seem to be more Level 0 giveaways recently, particularly for more AAA-type games (Dishonored 2, Prototype 2, Fallout 4, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, GTA V, etc).

(And of course Level 0 giveaways tend to have a ton of entries).

I was wrong, it's actually 7500. :)

I block a few categories automatically -- anime, pixel graphics, puzzles, hidden object. I also block pretty much any game less than 5P. And then I block anything else that I know I would never play even if it was in my library. I am not here for +1 or anything like that, so I try to focus on games that I will actually enjoy if I win them.

Before the recent change in points there were significantly more 1 or 2 hour giveaways. Many people have seemingly switched to longer running times, and this has meant more people entering those giveaways.

Also as others have pointed out, there has been a drop off in good bundles the last couple weeks. The most recent HB was not that exciting (the one before was pretty good, but still not an overwhelming knockout)... Bundle Stars / Fanatical seems to have slowed down the number of bundles they put out... Indie Gala seems to aim for new lows of quality.

People can now bank an infinite amount of points with long-lasting giveaways, meaning even with the slower point generation, you can now spend probably as many points on average as before the changes.
The entry numbers on my giveaways after the initial change that limited points dropped by 10%-ish, but now, with the "tweaks", the average entry numbers seem to have increased compared to the old system. So yes, if you feel you have smaller chances now, my giveaways would confirm that it is indeed the case.
