Yes, but my Steam friends can see me playing it and see how many hours I have, I can take screenshots that appear on the game's community hub, it adds to my game count, and so on.
I assume for people who start Steam only when they wish to game, it doesn't matter if they just start UPlay instead. If your interest is only in playing an Ubi game and extra features add no value, UPlay ownership is always cheaper.

That makes sense but there are benefits to simply having a game on Steam. I bought Ghost Recon Wildlands on Uplay not long ago and ran into a problem. The game has native Steam Controller support, but you can't access that unless you've actually bought it on Steam. You can still add it to Steam as a non-Steam game and use your own controller profile but far from as easy.

Don't think Siege has Steam Controller support but Steam is so many things nowadays that it's difficult to do without it.

I can refund w/ paypal, but seeing the reviews and how long the site has stayed and their fb page pretty much answers 94% of the questions. Well I took the bait.

I must say im glad i bought the normal edition(and season pass2). If you plan on playing the game a lot the starter edition will be a pain to grind all the ops. With the normal edition you can get the standard ops pretty quick which is a lot more fun then playing only focused on renown grinding. After that you can grind a little for the DLC ops (i got all the year 1's by just playing). I think that when you have the starter edition you will be tired of grinding so you have to buy the season pass. So in my opinion i would say buy the normal edition. It is definitly worth it!

The starter edition is incredibly grindy if you want to unlock anything, I would not recommend it. Just get this standard edition (it's cheaper than starter edition anyway). With the standard if you plan to put in some good hours you can unlock the DLC for free. (I've played for about 60 hours)
