Today, with the excellent review by Kim Justice, I realize that there was a sequeloid to one of my favorites C64 games URIDIUM in the works, and that is finally here. Name is Hyper Sentinel, and seems to be really nice. Also: was made by the same people!

Just spreading the love for C64 inspired games.

Played Uridium, don't remember how hard it was. I remember that Nintendo later sold it for the Wii, but I didn't play that version (although I owned a Wii).

As for the new game, I don't know, imitating the graphical limitations of 30+ year old machines isn't my cup of tea.

It's an stylistic desition. You didn't like Shovel Knight? Or Space Invaders extreme? Or VVVVVV?

In this case the style is halfway between the C64 and the Amiga. My small criticism is that I would have preferred one or the other (maybe full blown Amiga, that could be amazing)

I just personally don't like that stylistic decision. It's not that it makes a game unplayable, but it detracts from it, IMO. A game is stronger if it's not saddled by age-old graphics. Shovel Knight may be a good game, but with better graphics it would be a better game, IMO.
