I wanted to get it on microsoft store. Glad I didn't. But this will probably cost a small fortune as it usually goes. Hoping not, though.

I wonder if we would need to download another launcher

Other Microsoft Windows store releases require no other launcher on Steam. A shame in some ways though, doesn't have cross save with the XBOne versions when you own the games on Steam.

Has anyone here played this before (elsewhere)? I was reading some stuff about the game and what I find a bit offputting is that there is no classical sense of progression in the game. All the cars are available right from the start and it's just up to you to pick the favorite one. I'm not a fan of mindless grinding in racing games but I feel like it would kill the mood if I had the fastest car from the start.

I played it just a bit so don't know the game fully. You still have driver levels and fastest cars are still the most expensive so you are still stuck with relatively slower cars in the beginning.

I'd say it's more or less a playground for car enthusiasts. You have barn finds around the map where you can get some cool classics or sports cars. You earn money through races and can build whatever you want (engine swaps, customizable suspension)

I can't really comment if theres an actual story line - played it just a bit (There where some cutscenes when finding barn finds though). But overall it's really a pure driving game :D

Even more - you can take some old slow car, swap engine, do upgrades and make it faster then some of the "fastest" cars in the game.. so as I said - playground for car enthusiasts. I don't think it's actually that exciting for casual gamers

Hmmmm. Sounds pretty arcadey. I guess I'll just get it for 50% (whenever that happens) that description of yours doesn't really sell it to me. Thank you for the input.

I bought the double pack with 3 and 4 before removal, but only played 3 so far. If 4 is similar, you can get some fast cars early on, but the opponents will use cars similar to yours. If you can't control them, those fast cars are worse than the slower cars since the computer won't have such problems.

I play it on my Xbox Series X (I can play it also on PC and on my phone through Xbox Cloud) -I own all DLCs -(with dlc you dont need to grind money to buy better cars at the beginng, but dont expect that you will win all races with them). Game is basically car collecting game - there is 700+ cars to own- when you finish races you get points, when you gather enough points you will get lottery spin with a chance of getting money/car/clothes for you character (I mostly win clothes...). After 5 months of playing the game i have collected 500+ cars, there is also auction house where you can buy cars that you dont own, but some cars are only available through completing weekly events. Game was fun for first 2 months of playing, now I have completed almost all races and 'missions' and I only do weekly events. Of course you can do races with friends online - that can be fun - you can do your own routes etc.

Sounds like a bit different version of The Crew 2. Driver levels, grinding for currency etc

I played both, I'd choose FH4 over The Crew anytime (I already uninstalled The Crew 2).

Cool, but with it costing 70€ for Standard and 100€ for Ultimate the sale would have to be well over 50% to entice me.

This game launched at 60 € before they started doing 70 € games. Now 3 YEARS LATER, they are doing 70 € pricing because it is the trend. Beyond ridiculous. The average pay in my country is 300 € and they have the nerve to put this up for this price.

I guess they really want us to rent their games on gamepass or pay the premium.

That's because there's deficit of games & abundance of moneys!
