All 3 existing Witcher games are 85% off on Steam this weekend. Clicky

  • Witcher 1 - 85% off - $1.50
  • Witcher 2 - 85% off - $2.99
  • Witcher Adventure Game - 50% off - $4.99

I'm super excited, might buy it both for me and to giveaway since W3 seems way too badass and I want to experience the whole trilogy (even though I won't have the $ to play W3 for a couple of years).

Nah brah, I already have them :]
No, I don't care about this overrated franchise :/
Nu, Barbie eats a potato, I cry evrytim durp

I'm currently asking myself whether or not to purchase Witcher 1 for a giveaway, since I'm running low on giveaways material.
On the other hand, I'm also running out of funds. (All I have is exactly $6.66 and not a cent more for all of my gaming expenses on Steam, at the moment... Wait, 666? Gaben, you devil.)

Already bought the games when it was 75% off last time along with an extra copy of witcher 2 for the heretics, but I'll probably end up buying a couple more to give away - Giving more money to CDPR is never a bad idea anyway.

Yeah, they are rebels in a corporate world. Sure, they are a company and all they really want is profit, but their approach is unique in trying to give their customers great value in order to get more sales.

They also listen to their customers, when Witcher 2 was sold with DRM on Steam and the game suffered on its performance (20-30 frames drops) they effective immediately removed all DRM from it. Now they will face their trial by fire with their first payed expansions promising +40h total, they are still sweetening the deal with 16 free DLCs in form of cosmetic stuff and a few minor quests.

Well, of course they want profit as well. But I do indeed believe that they won't fail to deliver their promises this time around either.

If you see a discount, you can grab the game but did not play it. Сonsumer psychology. You spend money on something that you do not need. Burning eyes. And then you think, what for I bought it.
We all just consumers.

Yeah, in the end gamers rather collect the games rather than play them. At least we are supporting the games we like so the devs can keep making better products and the industry keeps growing :]

For me I think: I'd rather spend $5-10 in a couple of games than spend it on a six pack of beers, lol

Yeah, it's not very newbie friendly for what I've seen, at least they are super cheap, you get both games with all their free DLC for $4.50! But I've gamed more on consoles so I have to admit that I'm a little afraid for the game's complexity

Love Witcher 2. Does it have any bundle penalties in the current SG system?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

As of this second... I think not! :D I think they will only get the penalty if they sell for 90% off or enter a bundle, and the games are not listed on the infamous "Bundle games list"

Thanks! Is there a way to view the Bundle Games List now? I'm having trouble getting used to the new site.

Also, do you know if there are retroactive penalties on giving games that are later added to the list?

It's not going to stop me from giving Witcher 2 away, but I've been wondering about this stuff for a while and don't see it in the FAQ!

Thanks! That makes searching so much easier.

Is the system still in place where you don't lose CV if a game is later added to the Bundle Lst?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, it is. But remember that they get added with the date the bundle (or > 95% sale) started so if you gift a game from such bundle/sale your CV will be adjusted accordingly when the game get added to the bundle list.

Of course. I've been trying to sell The Adventure Game for the last week and now the price is in the toilet. Damn it. I just wanted to get my money back. Got stuck with it after a bad trade.

Sorry to hear that... yeah that Board Game doesn't appeal to me on the slightest either :/

You can always give it away and hope that karma will give you back something worth $10 in a giveaway you win in the future

Ok, who might need a GOG key (proviso - it might not work) for The Witcher 2? Be nice and not zero level steam... quick like a bunny before the old Momo has to go to bed :-p

Nope, gave those all away ages ago - though it was a pain to get rid of them! But note, this key may NOT work but hey - it's free and couldn't hurt to give it a shot. But I still have a GOG Torchlight hanging around homeless... and sad.

I have way too many games on Steam so those keys would be wasted on me to be frank, hope that someone who will appreciate them will ask them to you!

edit: Here, have a Steam key for Mythos: The Beginning, (I'm not sure if it hasn't expired tho) = 2EZZI-HBFE2-N9Q4? where ? is the first letter of Looney Toons! Hope it still works

  • 45% already have the games (they want)
  • 34% will buy them for different reasons
  • 17% don't care

Well, damn... I've bought both 1 + 2 with the intention of creating (forum) GA's but apparently almost 50% of you guys/gals already have these games. :o/ Hopefully there will be some people interested in them. :D

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes there are, I have joined about 30 GAs of those games but haven't won yet... the 45% number is of people participating on THIS poll :p

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I know that, but people who have answered the poll on this thread are mostly the ones who browse the forum and are interested by the Witcher games. I guess I just didn't expect to see 50% of them already owning the games. Still, I'm glad there's at least one person who will most probably enter the giveaways. ;) (but no, I don't plan on starting a thread titled Witcher GA's, too obvious, it's gonna be...ah... hidden, so to speak, among bundle games. Yay for train, I suppose.) Anyway... all this to say, expect more Witcher giveaways. ;)

PSA: You can also use the CD Key given, when you buy the game, to redeem it on GOG for a DRM free copy. Just select the game in your library and to the far right you'll see CD Key written. You can then use the code to redeem on GOG.

You can see cd keys?!?!? REALLY???

What I knew is that in the case of Steam there is not a CD key, I though you had to take a screenshot and send it by email to GOG and wait for your free DRM-free copy :D
