Will you buy any game on this Steam sale?
I'm currently asking myself whether or not to purchase Witcher 1 for a giveaway, since I'm running low on giveaways material.
On the other hand, I'm also running out of funds. (All I have is exactly $6.66 and not a cent more for all of my gaming expenses on Steam, at the moment... Wait, 666? Gaben, you devil.)

Yeah, they are rebels in a corporate world. Sure, they are a company and all they really want is profit, but their approach is unique in trying to give their customers great value in order to get more sales.
They also listen to their customers, when Witcher 2 was sold with DRM on Steam and the game suffered on its performance (20-30 frames drops) they effective immediately removed all DRM from it. Now they will face their trial by fire with their first payed expansions promising +40h total, they are still sweetening the deal with 16 free DLCs in form of cosmetic stuff and a few minor quests.

Probably going to buy the 1st one + a 2nd copy to give away

Yeah, in the end gamers rather collect the games rather than play them. At least we are supporting the games we like so the devs can keep making better products and the industry keeps growing :]
For me I think: I'd rather spend $5-10 in a couple of games than spend it on a six pack of beers, lol

better spend $10 on six pack of beers, and another 10 on good game :D

Yeah, it's not very newbie friendly for what I've seen, at least they are super cheap, you get both games with all their free DLC for $4.50! But I've gamed more on consoles so I have to admit that I'm a little afraid for the game's complexity

Love Witcher 2. Does it have any bundle penalties in the current SG system?
Comment has been collapsed.
As of this second... I think not! :D I think they will only get the penalty if they sell for 90% off or enter a bundle, and the games are not listed on the infamous "Bundle games list"

Thanks! Is there a way to view the Bundle Games List now? I'm having trouble getting used to the new site.
Also, do you know if there are retroactive penalties on giving games that are later added to the list?
It's not going to stop me from giving Witcher 2 away, but I've been wondering about this stuff for a while and don't see it in the FAQ!

Thanks! That makes searching so much easier.
Is the system still in place where you don't lose CV if a game is later added to the Bundle Lst?

Yes, it is. But remember that they get added with the date the bundle (or > 95% sale) started so if you gift a game from such bundle/sale your CV will be adjusted accordingly when the game get added to the bundle list.

Sorry to hear that... yeah that Board Game doesn't appeal to me on the slightest either :/
You can always give it away and hope that karma will give you back something worth $10 in a giveaway you win in the future

10p and 20p respectively for the core games :]
10p for the niche board game

Bought a couple copies of both, as they're great games that people want (I already owned them, these are gift material).

Come here ninjas! Free GOG key over here! Very kind of you momo, maybe you have a Witcher 1 GOG key too? ;]

I have way too many games on Steam so those keys would be wasted on me to be frank, hope that someone who will appreciate them will ask them to you!
edit: Here, have a Steam key for Mythos: The Beginning, (I'm not sure if it hasn't expired tho) = 2EZZI-HBFE2-N9Q4? where ? is the first letter of Looney Toons! Hope it still works

21h later the results are roughly:

Yes there are, I have joined about 30 GAs of those games but haven't won yet... the 45% number is of people participating on THIS poll :p

I know that, but people who have answered the poll on this thread are mostly the ones who browse the forum and are interested by the Witcher games. I guess I just didn't expect to see 50% of them already owning the games. Still, I'm glad there's at least one person who will most probably enter the giveaways. ;) (but no, I don't plan on starting a thread titled Witcher GA's, too obvious, it's gonna be...ah... hidden, so to speak, among bundle games. Yay for train, I suppose.) Anyway... all this to say, expect more Witcher giveaways. ;)

You can see cd keys?!?!? REALLY???
What I knew is that in the case of Steam there is not a CD key, I though you had to take a screenshot and send it by email to GOG and wait for your free DRM-free copy :D

All 3 existing Witcher games are 85% off on Steam this weekend. Clicky
I'm super excited, might buy it both for me and to giveaway since W3 seems way too badass and I want to experience the whole trilogy (even though I won't have the $ to play W3 for a couple of years).
