Just curious, how do people sell pre-order gift copies of Steam games so cheaply?

I have seen a bunch of people selling Saints Row IV pre-orders (Steam Inventory Gift) for like $36. The game is $50 to buy, so how do these people aquire these games so cheaply that they can sell them at that lower price? I've seen heaps of people do it.

Russian copies of games are often much cheaper than NA copies. People in Russia buy them, sell them at a profit to themselves and a discount to you, it's a win-win.

Afaik, SR4 is region locked to CIS countries if you buy it in the Russian Steam store.

Other than that you'd be right, the game is "only" $25 on the RU store

I thought it would be something like that. Especially since I'm in New Zealand and Saints Row IV is $72.99 on Steam it's a huge win-win for me. I love it.

Someone showed me a screenshot of a price error on nuuvem, it was like $5 ( they fixed it of course now )

I think that the mistake was only on the notification e-mail and never on the site.

For SR IV, these copy probably come from Brazilian people (because region lock in CIS/RU zone).
26,50€ (85 BR$) in the BRA store, instead of 44,99€ in EU store,

Brazil keys are region locked for SR4 unless you prepurchased, Nuuvem support confirmed the fact in email.
